I just turned 41. In 2002 I injured my back. I got that under control. In 2009 I started gaining weight and having migraines I knew something was wrong. Was told it was just migraines In 2010 I was told it was a pituitary tumor, which was starting to show the year before but doctor never told me. I was doing OK managing then in 2013 I have Cushing's, which led to weight gain. Doctors aren't helping so I use herbs to help. It is to the point I can't do much was denied social security, but now have a lawyer, they say I should be on it. I read once that the depo shot could cause a tumor, but not sure. So, weight gain, back pain, migraines, nerve pain, sciatica, trouble getting around, limited standing, that's my life, lost all my friends and live with parents again, and lost my job of 8 years. Thank you for listening

I'm so sorry you are in such a predicament. I have been dealing with daily pain since 1992 and it started in my left shoulder. I have since been diagnosed with Graves Disease, Long Thoracic Nerve Palsy, Fibromyalgia, Spinal Stenosis, Thoracic Sponylitic Myelopathy, Degenerative Joint and Degenerative Disc Disease among other things. I've gained a lot of weight, can't get around, haven't been able to work in almost 8 years and suffer anxiety, depression and I isolate a lot because people don't understand and don't want to hear it. Welcome into our group... There are MANY wonderful people here with different issues and diseases but we all suffer excruciating pain. I'm glad you have a lawyer.. Make sure you fight for your disability because you worked for it. I pray you are able to find help with your pain... Try to go see a pain management doctor, perhaps he/she will get you on a path to feeling better.

Hi Migraines, and welcome to our e-society support club. You'll find no ridicule here, only support & understanding from others much like you. You have a lot going on myself, so I understand the frustration you must feel. Praying you'll have solutions to income issues soon, as well as improved pain relief..

I'm 54 and started with DDD/DJD in 1992 with my first neck fusion. From there it was hysterectomy, oophorectomy, gall bladder surgery, hernia, more neck surgery, chronic back injuries/pain (all by 2003), then in 2010 I added (all in one) paraovarian cyst with endometreosis & scar tissue & appendectomy, bladder hematoma & stents/post-op Ileus & intubation. I haven't returned to work because I went on to develop fibromyalgia, pelvic congestion syndrome, pelvic floor dysfunction (bowel & bladder), and worsened asthma, Sjogrens & Raynaud's. Now I even have Interstitial cystitis and possibly looking at more surgery. Those are what i can remember at this moment, because I'm also suffering major mental confusion & memory issues. So I truly do understand frustration.

But you mentioned something about deposit shots. I'd love to know more because I was given 2-3 in 2002-2003 for ovarian cyst while waiting to graduate college in order to have surgery. I also have migraines, since my second neck fusion in 1995.

I had depo before but it only caused me to gain major weight. Like 80 pounds in one year but was never diagnosed with a tumor. Hmm, that's interesting though.

Sorry guys but could you explain what the shot is?

It is a hormone shot used for birth control. You get it every 3 months. I have been on Depo for years (off and on a few times). Never had any of the bad side effects, but do have the bonus of no period which I love. My period was always horrible!

Reece, they gave it to me to try and halt the cyst on my ovaries from growing. It worked on one but not the other, so they were afraid I had cancer.
