Is anyone out there suffering with Vulvodynia?

Oct 08, 2017 9:48 PM

Hi there,
I just downloaded this app in the hopes of better tracking my flare ups and to keep track of my meds.
I'm in gabapentin 3x a day, and that seems to work for the most part.
I was diagnosed with Vulvodynia last year, prior to that I had been sufferimy with these symptoms and jumping from doctor to doctor since 2012.
I knew when, where and how my symptoms started, which I felt gave me a leg up on finding a diagnosis.
I was wrong it took 4 years and countless of doctors to figure it out.
I know I'm shooting in the dark here and it doesn't seem like people are on this much, but I wanted to see if there was anyone else like me on here I could talk to and share experiences with.
This condition makes you feel isolated and alone.
I wanted to know if there is anything you have found that helps with the symptoms, or if you know anyone that has actually been able to overcome this and live a normal life and have a normal sex life..
If you're out there, I would love to hear from you.
Kindest Regards,
Jess

By the way I am also looking to see if there is anyone as young as myself dealing with this pain.
I am 25 now and I've been dealing with this since I was 19.

Jess, I have it. Since my 1st pregnancy, so may be hormone related. My eldest child is 21 now, to put it in context. I’m 50.

NanaBinda
I feel the same way about the anti itch cream.
I've had it for 6 years.
My doctor said it is most likely trauma, related to a sexual assault 6 years ago, which is when it all actually started.
I pray for the day it just goes away.
Did you find anything that helped with the pain?
I'm on Gabapentin and I can't wait for the day my life isn't controlled by 3 pills a day.
