Hi all. I have been gaining weight recently (not med related) and am using myfitnesspal to log my food and exercise so I can see where I never to change things. I loved using myfitnesspal i had lost 50 lbs in 2013. Unfortunately when i stopped working, because of the fibro, i have gained it back. I will installit on my new phone tomorrow. Send me a friend request i use teepainter on that app too
I am on there I have been using it a while and still trying to figure it all out haha!! I have fibromyalgia so I make sure I walk my son to school everyday to keep myself active and I too have weight gain, although mine is the medication I am on! Once I have got back from the school run I am on the sofa for the rest of the day as the pain is too emence. I just keep wishing that I could lose weight to see if will help my pain levels.
I live in the uk so don't have all the eating out spots you do. We have kfc McDonalds Burger King fish and chips or a pub dinner. Just hate being in pain and people telling me that it's all in my head and it's one thing after another.
Okay, I confess, you can find me there as scaryann1. I've been there since 2012. When I started I was averaging 500-800 calories a day and got up to 305 pounds. I'm proud to say I'm up to 1200-1600 calories a day and am down to 279 pounds.
I am such a dummy when it comes to this stuff. I don't know how to organize my thoughts to track all my intake, body info - outside of pain, food journaling, knowing what food has what calories, how many I am supposed to have a day, etc. Is there a dummy outline somewhere?
The myfitnesspal will help you with calories and nutrition. You can input your own recipes and it will give you the calories and other nutrients. In other words it does most of the work for you.
When you first set it up it will ask you questions like: What is your current weight? What is your goal weight? What is your level of exercise? How much do you want to gain/lose per week? Then it will give you an idea of how many calories you need to reach that goal.
Is this the kind of information you need? If it's something else you don't understand, I will certainly try to help you out!
There is a tutorial in the help menu on the app. I think the idea is to enter anything you put in your body. It's not exact. Most things i enter are approximations of amounts and usually a different brand since i tend to buy local and they usually don't have the info on the package.

My bf is a fitness trainer and, he gives great workouts for me, I'm going to add the app and see if I can't track foods and my exercise. Tysm for suggesting this. You'd think being an Anorexic Recoverer (is that even a word) that id be skinny. Nope, I've got plenty to lose, all I did was slow my metabolism down.
Hi New, I just woke up and saw your message! I replied to your other post, but forgot to ask you if you had set up an account yet. LOL There is both a website and an app that you can use. I personally use both. The web site is myfitnesspal.com and the name of the Android app is myfitnesspal. I'm not sure if there is an apple app or not. (See how I am) LOL They sync with each other extremely well, just as well as this one does.
There are a lot of options there that you can use. You can keep track not only of any foods you eat, but also any exercising you do. They also have a forum too. I have a post in the forum "EMTWL (Eat More To Weigh Less)
I was going through a very depressing week when I stopped losing weight and was trying to up my calories from 1500 to 1700 and it was soooo hard! Now after hitting that number for three days in a row, I'm starving! LOL.

New are you sure you have the right app? I cant find you but i was able to send a request to onebulletpoint. Myfitnesspal all one word, the icon is blue with the under Armor logo and what looks like someone dancing
Okay, I think I may have figured it out! There are two apps, both very similar in looks. One is "Map My Fitness Workout Trainer" and the other app is "Calorie Counter - MyFitnessPal" The icons are very, very similar. The two apps don't seem to talk to each other. The one we are having success finding each other on is the "Calorie Counter - MyFitnessPal"
I've been a Myfitnesspal, gal since 2013. I love it!! It keeps me honest and in check with my weight and eating habits!! Since October 2012 I have lost 90 lbs in all! I dont pay for apps ever. Unless you are going super hard core there is no reason to get the premium, most things are just a guesstimate on the nutritional values anyway. And personally i have absorption issues so without knowing the exacts on that there is no point in tracking all the micronutrients. Just my opinion.
Onebulletpoint, I did look into changing username there. They allow you to change your username once and only once. I'm not sure though if you have to be on the computer to do it though. I was on the computer when I thought to check.
Figured out how to add people, so had a mental ten minutes trying to find and adding everyone. Haha. My hubby eats crap all the time... But he's a binman so works it off all day. And I have to cook it for him. Lazy git
