Is it a flare up?

Jul 16, 2015 3:38 PM

I've just had facet injections and radiofrequency neuropathy( where they burnt nerves to stop sending pain signal) surgery done 2 months ago.

The pain has been so constant where it hurts a lot of the time. It won't allow me to sleep and do certain things. I can't tell whether it's a flare up or whether it's just there. After taking meds, I'm able to do certain things like the above, but once it starts wearing off, all that pain comes back. Is it still considered a flare up?

Octobot I would call that intermittent pain because it ebbs and flows according to your meds. It's never truly went away yet. Have you talked to the doctor about it? What about icing the area several times a day. Because of my sensitivity to temperatures I have to wrap ice packs in towels or use my bead or rice freezer packs, they don't get as cold. 🙏🌼

Flappy, I do a lot of ointments, tens machine and over the counter patches everyday....can't manage it to a tolerable level at all. Sigh...

I know the only facet injx I had done (2x) hurt awfully bad, like it's head no reprieve at all. After the second one I asked him to not do facet injx anymore. I wish I knew something that would give you at least a little relief. I know a professional massage helps the muscles if they're tight, but I don't know if losening the muscles would help the other pain. Every now and then I pray the $60-75 for a massage... Ahhhh! I'll be thinking and hoping and praying something will happen to reduce your pain! 🙏🌼
