Is it schatzki ring or eosinophilic esophagitis

Nov 27, 2016 8:53 PM

Had an upper GI done Wednesday they say I either have eosinophilic esophagitis or schatzki ring. To say the least I'm so pissed 😡 off. 6 years I've been telling them something is right begging for a GI and colonoscopy (the Dr still didn't order the colonoscopy). Ik there's more issues below too.

Very scared of eosinophilic esophagitis does anyone have this?! What I've read is freaking me out. I won't find out which one it is for 2 weeks. Please keep me in your prayers y'all.

Thanks for letting me vent!

((( gentle hugs ))) I hate not knowing. I always conjure up the worst possible scenario. Remember to breathe hun. Take things one day at a time.

Thanks, Mimikay! I always try to take one day at a time. I just wish they would have wait to say anything! 2 weeks is a long time!

It is a long time. I used to be a nurse and would cringe anytime a doctor would say thing like "we found something but won't know until the results come back.." or "we think you might have cancer but need to get the radiologist report and lab results first."

Then we have my sister. She was born with one kidney not working right. Several years ago her doctors told her she had a cancerous tumor growing on her good kidney and that they needed to operate right away. They were afraid it had spread and told her if it had that she only had months to live. We all gathered for the operation. Terrified for her. About 2 hours after they wheeled her back her doctor came out. He sheepishly told us that no, my sister didn't have a tumor after all. What she did have was a new kidney growing on her good one to pick up some of the slack her bad kidney wasn't able to do.

So for a week we were thinking my sister was dying. Should have known she was too stubborn. ;)

Just goes to show - doctors don't always know what they are talking about.

Hang in there hun. Try not to stress too much over it. Walk away from researching each condition. That will only add to the not knowing stress. ((((hugs))))
