There has been a lot of focus by the pain clinic on my back pain which is fairly well managed after 2.5 years which is great. However this meant I neglected other painful parts of my body during this time. Not entirely i went to physio twice a week and complained of sore knees there. The physio strapped them and said there might be some damage there but unlikely to be ligaments. So I struggled through strengthening exercises until i was directed to be reviewed by the insurance company. Who would have thought those doctors proved that I needed more Mri and investigation. So I was referred to yet another surgeon and confirmed my right ACL has torn and needs a hamstring reconstruction. Looking back if I protested more this would have been investigated sooner. I know we are meant to be in charge of our health but I often don't feel that way and listen to the experts. After the ACL surgery I also need pins removed from my pelvis which seems to have come right through the bone. So I'm nervously waiting for a date for surgery. Moral of the story is speak up and make drs listen. I could have avoided a lot of agony if I had protested more.
