Well, just got verbal word today from the surgeons office that there will be a telephone conference between the infectious disease specialist and the surgeons office. When she told me that, I looked up and said, It's about damn time already! They are getting frustrated, but I'm just plain pissed off at this point because my body is taking the brunt of it. It just seems like the infectious disease docs are not holding up their end of the bargin on this. It's supposed to be a team effort, but I don't see any team work if I have to be the middle man on it. I'm not doing it anymore. Just needed to get that out already. Hoping this will do some good.
I hope this helps you! I find it pretty crazy that there's so many doctors that don't like discussing with other doctors about their patients and working as a team. It has taken me a lot of time to make my doctors talk and understand each other so I'm glad you're getting there too! It's great to hear progress happening with some people on here! I hope it keeps spreading to everyone!
I deeply miss having Dr's who worked as a team! If you can have that, do it. Mine were all in the same med group so everyone had my records and that helped. Wish I could manage it all on my own but I can barely get to one appt a month because of cognitive issues. I need seven types of med help and have two. Counseling here is a joke. And I no longer have a care giver. But I'm not giving up.
It seems uncaring that they don't work together and make people wait so long for medical collaboration. It is frustrating and affects your quality of life. Guess until it becomes personal, even docs don't understand.
