It's so hard to be around people

Jun 06, 2016 5:40 PM

I'm whining again.
Was in the computer server room for a couple hours and then went into the office to do paperwork. Didn't need my mask in the server room, office smells like coconut lotion. So instantly my mask is on so that hopefully I don't get sick again. I'm on by myself tonight and I'm not allowed to leave the building unless it's via ambulance. They all know, I even have one of those colourful health warning signs on my cubical with a giant no fragrance sign on it. So I guess the question is, was it my manager, the communications guy or someone who came into the office to talk to my manager? There are only the 3 of us here after 3pm.

Being it's coconut oil I'd say it's less likely it was the communications guy. Some people are just self centered and rude. I'm sorry you had to be exposed. Hugs & prayers you won't get an attack! 🙂💕🙏🌼

Gotobef, I'd have to agree with Flappsy as far as the coconut oil probably being worn by a woman. I am so sorry that you work with such self centered people. What has to happen for them to stop wearing fragrance and coming near your work area?? You've even got a sign!! Do they think it only applies to people who may or may no come in from the outside? That just enrages me!!! What if you had an attack and end up in the hospital. Well, that's workers compensation. Doesn't matter that it's not an injury, they are making you sick. I wish I could help you. Hey, if you're ever heading out of there never to return, give me the number and I'll call and tell them what shitty people they are!{{{Hugs}}}💕🙏🏻🌻

I work in an office of men. Only one other female and she had already left fur the day. Coconut is subtle so i could see men using it because it would probably be the only non-flowery lotion in the house.
It's going to take me passing out and falling and probably breaking my skull open fit me to be taken seriously, well maybe not even then, they'd probably blame it on something else like my own stupidity.
Workers comp pretty much dropped my case for them causing this sensitivity so i doubt they'd be any help if i did get broken bones because of it. Can't prove the lotion made me sick

Gotobef, do you have medical records documenting your chemical sensitivity and what it does to you? If you have that, they can't turn you away without reviewing those records. I would look into it. I'm so sorry you have to suffer through all that.{{Hugs}}💕🙏🏻🌻😊
