Joint pain but no swelling

Jul 13, 2016 4:21 PM

Hi all,

I'm new to this so please bare with me. It started with pain in my right wrist that came and went then one day it moved to my right elbow. About 2 weeks later I had the same pain in my left wrist and elbow and the doc thought it may be a form of arthritis. 3 months on I now get pain in both shoulders, wrists fingers, ankles , knees and hips all which come and go. My wrists are definitely the worst. I've seen a. Rhumatologist but they are uncertain as to what it is as there is no sign of any swelling and bloods came back ok. Does anyone have anything similar? As well as joint pain I'm struggling was extreme fatigue and all of it is getting me down. I just want to know what's going on :(

Thanks

That's what I have too. Feel like they are really swollen and tingly but when I look at them they look normal. Messes with your mind. Git increasingly worse over 2years.
I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in October and still getting new symptoms all the time.
But yeah I'm fatigued all the time, getting pains and spasms and cramps in muscles and joints, and in back when stood or sat for long periods... Welcome to the forum. X 😘

Welcome to the community family Lils! It does sound like arthritis, but there are so many different types. But then many diseases share common symptoms. I have OA , sjogrens, fibromyalgia, & hypothyroidism, and they all share many symptoms. I get swelling and pain in my hands, fingers, wrists, elbows, & knees, which all started in the past year. I don't know if it's the combo of problems or something else, but my rheumy doc says until she sees the symptoms she can't even guess. Unfortunately it's hard to get in with her when the symptoms hit. Just keep tracking with this app, take pix if you can of the swelling, and hopefully you will get answers and treatment options soon. Hugs & prayers for a good night! πŸ™‚πŸ’•πŸ™πŸŒΈ

You're story is almost exactly like mine . It took me 2.5 years of seeing docs and specialists, and being told nothing was wrong. The only positive test I had was my ANA test but docs said it was false. They were wrong. I saw an Internist 3 months ago and he knew right away I was ill. I have lupus and Raynaud's and they strongly suspect Scleroderma. Don't give up looking for answers. Ask about testing for lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. Bloodwork is not definitive.

Symptoms come and go with lupus keep track of every seemingly Little thing. I get the fatigue you talk about from lupus too.

Hi Lils, your symptoms sound the same as mine. I keep getting the run around with doctors. The doctors have me thinking I'm cray cray. Sometimes I'm so tired, I'm too tired to breathe...it's just a description of my fatigue. I don't know what to do. My life is falling apart, pain and fatigue are my best friends now. I use to be so active now I can barely get to work or be with my family. I'm broke from all the doctor visits😞, insurance only covers so much. Well, hope you get answers. Keep us informed.
