L5-s1 herniation not able to move like I used to

Apr 02, 2015 6:10 AM

31 Male with a mild to moderate l5-s1 herniation
it's the consistent tingling and the dull ache in the back of my knee and now the pain in my lower back and glute that i am been told are signs it's healing. I am not very patient but I just wanted to be able to walk to shop or to work with out this level of pain all the time...

42, bed bound L5/S1 herniation with prolapse.

Sounds like you've got it pretty good on the pain, not covering too much of your leg. How long have you been in this flare? Too bad we can't share photos/graphics, I have a few that are easy to read. They explain our skeleton, muscles, and nerves. Try googling nerve chart.

34 year old F, mild/moderate depending on the day L5-S1 herniation(no prolapse, no sciatica at this point in time). Padster, I can completely understand where you are coming from. Can't get up and move like I used to. Standing is difficult, stairs are impossible, grocery shopping is not possible without using an electric scooter from the store. It's just no fun at this point.

I understand also! 37, F, l4/5,l5s1 disc herniation with nerve impingement, ddd, bone spurs, fibro, c5/6/7 fusion last October. The list goes on... Life is just not what it used to be... Now it is all pills that don't work and "I can't do that" cuz it hurts too much and I'm just exhausted!

I cry when I do my PT too Amanda. It may not be nice to cry but never be embarrassed by it. I can't stand people seeing me cry

L4S5 with uprooted nerve and herniated disk with slight bulge on rt side. 59 and I had an anteriordiskectomy on C5,6,7 in 2005. Up until I had my vertical Gastric Sleeve in 1013 that I was finally able was able to walk when I go shopping for groceries without using a scooter after I lost 87 lbs I haven't had to use it. Still have about 50 to go. Since then I have been able to do more so I am always over doing it.

Weezie, what did you do to loose the weight, with all this pain I can barely walk, nerves are really bad and feet with pins and needles then the next day in really bad flare. I also have fibromyalgia and arthritis

30 year old l4-l5 herniation and possibly l5-s1issues from pt. I've had the cry sessions in pt also. Doc is gearing me up for a fusion surgery. I just want to get back to at least 50% of a normal life. Mechanic, camper, hiker, fisher, hunter almost unable to shower.

47 year old, T7 7mm lesion. "That shouldn't be causing any pain! 20% of the population has them. it's most likely a hemangioma."
Me: "could it have grown?"
Neuro: "posibbke, but unlikely"
