So just to clear up my side of the street here before I say this.... I have been in recovery from alcohol and street drugs for over 12 years. Pretty proud about this actually! Not bragging at all. So here it goes... When I read that you were considering a ketamine infusion- my body actually reacted in a way that made me want to call my sponsor & to go to an AA meeting- which I will. That's not the point tho! When I was using & not sober so many years ago, with a few of my friends- we used ketamine for recreational use. The high was crazy awesome actually. Truth be told. 😱 here's my curious question- how does that help? What is its purpose? What does it do?
I know it's actually a cat tranquilizer. I am super curious. If you couldn't tell already... LOL!
Hopeful, go for it, if you can afford it, and it's available. There's a bit of research on Pub med that suggests it can be helpful for people with CRPS. I had CRPS, and was considering traveling out of country for treatment if the meds kept failing. I was lucky, and got better...Good luck
Autoimmunerrrrr its actually a horse tranquilizer! Lol. But it is suppose to help the pain of crps, it doesn't prove to help spreading of it but it has shown that of its started early enough it can help the crps go into complete remisson.
Also I have.had issues in the past with things like that and I had friends (not really friend amymore) do it and they also said it is a crazy thing. But when its done in a hospital setting it is put into your body SOOO slowly and the only thing people usually feel is tired and like they are floating. If it is put in too fast people halluicinate. But basically you decide how fast it goes into your body of you can't handle it going in a faster rate they lower it.
Hey, I'm about to go in (next month) for ketamine infusions the trick is to find someone or somewhere that knows how to use it best for the paitent... By that I mean I go in for 10 days where as some go in they pump it up high after a day and it sends u crazy you hallucinate like crazy and it's not really beneficial... By going in for 10 days they slowly build it up.... DO NOT get in a racepatients on how high u can get it up and how quickly.. A lot of the patients that were in with me were doing this and it is not effective. It helped me with my nerve pain, depression and it brought me off my meds for almost 3 months. This can also be effective to help people addicted to drugs and or alcohol if used the right way! I HIGHLY recommend it!! But as I said make sure you're going to the right place! Where are you from?
Am from Washington DC, am going to George Washington University Hospital, for consultation first and will find out more there after. my pain doc referred me, he doesn't do ketamine he says it's time consuming for him. Lol
Lol... Make sure u get a lot of information! How they do it time frames how much they put in... I am happy to discuss with u further... I'm in Australia so our infor is different probably but I will send u a link of what I read... Tbh I went in pretty worried as I watched a guys video about it on YouTube! Don't do this ... Basically while ur in there be in control... If u are feeling a happy drunk that's what u want if u feel drunk drunk (slurred speech, stumbling) then notify staff to turn it down and they will start turning it back up when appropriate.
I had heard of using other "recreational " drugs for I guess their intended use - treating illness and pain. Haven't heard of ketamine for pain, I'd worry about having to wean off other meds first. They have found that ecstasy or molly can help with PTSD. Of course, I can't see the VA offering that treatment, although they had a great study about cannabis helping PTSD as well.
Hi princess chaos, please don't take offence to this... It is not my intention...(just saying this cause I'm very negative on myself and other peoples advice/opinion sometimes ends up coming in as negative.) Just thought I'd let you know that ketamine is a drug that will help the weaning process. While it is used recreationally it is no where used in the same way for this and does not have the same effect. I wouldn't not recommend in any way or form using illegal recreational drugs like ecstasy to get rid of anxiety. Ketamine is slowly allowed into the body. It resets your pain and your medication tolerances. Hopeful- I hope you get the things you're looking for through this. I am in on the 11th of April and will also let you know how I go.
