Kidney infection caused hip pain?

Jan 30, 2016 7:24 PM

So remember my back and hip pain..my dr today said i have kidney infection and that it could hurt in hip? Does this sounf far fetched? My white cells where elavated and i do have back pain but idk why my hip would hurt also..uggg

No, it doesn't sound far fetched Michelle. Currently being treated for a kidney infection myself and I have been getting increased back pain as well as pain in the hip. The urologist said that would explain the back and hip pain, but would not explain blood in urine or the abdominal pain that was thought to be appendicitis. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Michelle, ended up on Cipro for 21 days. ER did absolutely nothing for me. Just sent me home basically, no antibiotics, no nothing. My WBC count was also elevated but surprisingly enough my surgeon actually caught it. My PCP even missed it already. Right now, just have to wait until the 26th to get some further answers as to where the blood is coming from. They aren't exactly sure stil on that one.

Yes my count was elavated also the er is not like they used to be ! Have they checked kidney stones?

Jan 30, 2016 7:51 PM

Wait no antibiotics where in the world do you live!

Jan 30, 2016 7:52 PM

Nope, no antibiotics, no pain meds. Nothing. Live in delaware

Jan 30, 2016 7:53 PM

No, they haven't checked for stones yet. No evidence of it on ct scan so........

Michelle, they only gave me 1 dose of Toradol and 1 dose of Tramadol and that's it. Been in misery since then basically.

Sometimes unnoticeable! That would be one reason it does happen alot with us with blood in urine! Woman are very lucky!

No need to be sorry. Just feel like shit on a stick. At first glance we thought it might be an ovarian cyst, but nope that wasn't it. Then they thought appendicitis, inguinal hernia, etc. been through the ringer with this one already.
