Kidney stone surgery

Jan 06, 2017 7:27 AM

Well I had another surgery this past Tuesday. This time they did the lithotripsy which is blasting the stone. I already had a stent in from the last surgery. They position the machine on my kidney on my back but then they put it on my stomach cause I guess it was better view and better that way to blast it. I have been having pain in my stomach since and a lot of nausea. I have been straining my urine but have not seen any pieces of the stone yet. All week long I haven't been able to rest due to pain, nausea and going to the bathroom. I'm not due to go back to Jan. 23 for follow up and have to get a X-ray to see where the stone is at and if it broke up. I read it can take weeks to start passing anything. But I think I'm in a lot of pain because they were blasting on top of my stomach and may have irritated where the stent is. I just wanted to give an update and ask to keep me in prayer cause this is so hard and painful. Now we are expecting snow tonight thru tomorrow but I'm already sick and shut in anyway and not going anywhere. Thank you guys for your support!

Painedlady, sending you well wishes and gentle, healing {{{Hugs}}}. You've been going through this for a long time and you deserve a much needed respite from all of these kidney issues. I hope that things resolve for you. Perhaps you can call the doctor and ask them to put you on the cancellation list to get you in earlier than your scheduled appointment. Wishing you the best. ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ’•

Thank you everyone for your prayers! I swear I will be glad when all this is over. One positive thing is I know I'm losing weight because I can't eat with all the nausea and the stomach pain.

Painedlady that's not a fun way to lose weight for sure!!! I feel so badly that there is still no trace of the stones. I know it has to be painful and tiring and always having to use the strainer to see if they passed.๐Ÿ™„ I can't imagine. I'm thinking of you and sending you healing {{Hugs}} and well wishes your way.๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ’•
