Laser surgery anyone?

Nov 05, 2015 9:44 AM

My husband has been down my throat lately about calling some of these laser spine surgery places you see ads for on television. I called one and the response I received was a little overwhelming. Does anyone here have any experience (personally, or know someone) with these places? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! ☺

I was thinking the same thing! What I wouldn't give to be pain free!

They make it sound so promising. The skeptic in me worries about price and efficacy. I don't want to spend all that money and go through yet, more procedures to find out it didn't make a difference, or a big enough one. I don't know if there are re-dos and what about the chance of developing scar tissue?? So many questions.

I wonder the same thing. I've been tempted to go just for a consult. It sounds almost too good to be true. 🙏🌼

The one lady i knowthat has the same spinal issues as me said she thought the one in our area was a joke. She ended up having corrective surgery for what they did to her, and what they were correcting was not even her issue. But my sister saw one in NC and all he did was get rid of scar tissue for her.she said she is no better but no worse either.

Thanks for sharing. I don't know what to think, but I'm going to keep researching.

Right now, I would give anything to be pain free, but sadly it's not going to happen. Issues are not fixable surgically or with experimental treatments. Just going to have to live with it.

I pretty much feel that way - but my husband is persistent that I just keep trying new doctors until I find someone who's willing to "take a risk". One of my problems is I don't know if I'm ready and/or want to take any more risks. This is my future we are talking about. 😐

Yes, I can understand that. Even if my spine issues were "fixable", I'm not sure I Would want to take a risk with it. I used to think I did, but not anymore. And especially NOT with my orthopedic spinal surgeon. Would rather go jump off the bridge then have that.

First, talk about it with your GP. Then ask for a referral to a reputable pain clinic. Ask their opinion. Ask around to see if you can talk with patients who have undergone the procedure. That's what I do whenever some new "miracle

"Miracle cure" pops up in my area. (My bad for the unfinished comment. Had to kill a fruit fly on my screen)
