Long night means long day

Feb 20, 2016 7:55 AM

Insomnia is an absolute certainty here lately. I'm so fricking tired.

Feb 20, 2016 8:07 AM

I understand. I was awake from 3 on, and have a long day ahead. Try to catch a nap if you can. Hugs!! πŸ™‚πŸ’•πŸ™πŸŒΌ

Hope you get some rest. I think I am learning to catch a few zzz during the day in the strangest places.

I get woken up with knee, hip or shoulder pain. But I also have cfs along with fibro. So sometimes can sleep 6+ hours and still feel exhausted. Not felt refreshed in years. Hope you can get some shut eye.

I'm starting to believe sleep is just something healthy people get to enjoy. Even on the rare occasion I get to sleep 6-7hrs straight I'm just as exhausted as if I only sleep 3hrs too...so this group definitely understands. Just do what you can, and nap as often as you can..my prayers are with you.

I don't usually have trouble falling asleep, it's staying asleep. I toss n turn and get woken up by all the pain. I always feel tired and weak. I've figured out that I am always ready for a nap by about 2:30-3. And by nap I mean I sleep for 2-3 hrs and then am still ready for bed that night. I haven't felt well rested and refreshed in 2 yrs now. So tired of being tired!

Feb 20, 2016 12:22 PM

I know what all of y'all are talking about I slept from 10 pm until 2:30 woke up didn't go back to sleep until 5 am. I'm fixing to take me a nap, my sister has the baby on a Aunt's day out. I miss her terribly.

Feb 20, 2016 12:23 PM

Nap while you can. It's important for us to rest when possible.

Insomnia is my enemy lately too. I have been averaging only 2 to 3 hours of sleep a night for the last 3 weeks. Cannot even take a nap. This has been amping up my pain levels. I cannot figure out what came first the spike in my pain or the insomnia. Either way I am really sick of it. I had to laugh the other day, I said it was probably my punishment for all the naps I refused to take when I was a child. If I could go back in time I would get the best napper award! I want a do over.

Thanks everyone, I've had insomnia since before my diagnosis of Fibro, I am bipolar as well that doesn't help. I have gotten my days and nights mixed up and am trying to fix it. Not so sure this is a good idea, I should just give up and sleep whenever I can. Hopes everyone has better days and much much better sleep. πŸ’€πŸ˜΄πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Having had insomnia Friday night I had a rough day yesterday. Spent the day at my dad's and it turned out to be very mentally & emotionally straining. Long story short, I've thought his computer to my house to have it checked for hacking. The "owner" user, which should be him, has been password locked. With Alzheimer's he has no idea how to do that. His bank account was hacked last year. And then his personal paperwork is a mess and he needs help organizing and discarding some of it. But again with the Alzheimer's, he's getting aggressive and paranoid that anyone trying to help is trying to take over. We didn't get home until 8:00 PM and I had a major areas & blood pressure headache. My anxiety was high too. I probably shouldn't have but I took an anxiety pull, muscle relaxer, and my regular antidepressant & bedtime meds together, so I could calm down and sleep. I will asleep praying and other than waking to potty 3x I slept from 11pm - 8:40 am. I'm at peace this morning. I tried driving down yesterday and only made it 40 minutes before I head to let my hubby drive. I've got to get down there to help more, but unable to drive myself, and having multiple doc appts weekly, I don't know how to make it happen. I'm just trusting God. Wishing everyone a peaceful day, with little pain, and a much improved night of sleep tonight, with hugs & love! πŸ™‚πŸ’•πŸ™πŸŒΌ

Hang in there Bethann. I, too, suffer from insomnia and sometimes go without sleep so long I get my days and nights backwards. Since I am no longer able to work, I don't fight a nap if I feel one coming on because then I wake up and can't sleep. So, as you said, sleep as it comes. It's the only way I can go through it. I hope it helps you. {{Hugs}}πŸ’•πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒ»

Bethann, I am sorry that you have to go through insomnia and Bipolar together. I know this sounds funny but I used to be afflicted mildly with my bipolar but I am not anymore. With getting older, my mind has slowed down and I am sleeping normal, But I am on the drugs still. I am taking them to satisfy my psychiatrist for another reason. We are debating whether something is a hallucination or truly real. I have never hallucinated in my life. My other doctor and my wife don't think I hallucinated. But I figured I would stay on it till I prove the medical problem. But back to you, I understand how complicated it can be to have bipolar and insomnia. The one makes the other worse. My mind would always race. It would never slow down. I wish it would. Now I want it to speed up. But I hope that you get the sleep you need. If you have a cell phone. Download one of those apps that have nature relaxing music on it that can help you sleep. You know ones that play a stream, ocean, the forest, waterfall. Ect. They help me a lot. When I was having a manic moment though, everything would drive me crazy. My best wishes to you.

So far I've managed to get sorta back on track. I slept some more last night and hopefully I can get totally get my days and nights right. Thanks everyone for your encouragement and concern. It sure helps to know there is someone out there besides family (by the way, don't understand) that gets it. Once again thanks and I hope everyone has a good day and a sleep filled night. πŸ’€πŸ˜΄πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έβ€οΈ

Profiler, those are some of my favorite things to close my eyes to! In summer when there's a thunderstorm, I'm with the windows open so I can hear the rain and thunder. I also love the sounds of a babbling brook or creek.. I love the sounds of the beach, etc... My absolute favorite is definitely the rain with the sounds of distant thunder and birds and crickets, etc.. Bethann, I am happy to hear that you are getting back on schedule and getting some sleep!! More will come.{{{Hugs}}} πŸ’•πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒ»
