Looking for a good mattress

Apr 09, 2018 7:30 PM

I am newly diagnosed with fibromyalgia, diverticulosis, sevear arthritis in my back, and a narrowing of my cervical spine. Looking for suggestions on a good mattress.

I was just talking to my husband about the same thing! I had bad sleep last night and long overdue for a new mattress! I am not sure which ones are good! I do know that I don't want to feel like I can not move. I had a foam mattress topper and had to send back it was like you were sinking in the bed and could not flip side to side! Lol

I've got a memory foam topper that needs replaced now. It really helped me feel comfortable on uncomfortable bed.

I have a slow foam mattress and in my bed is the only place where I can lie and my back almost does not hurt
I think you should try out mattresses the best on a day that you are in great pain
Mattresses are also always very personal which is the most comfortable
Important advice do not go for a cheap mattress, because you spend quite a few hours on it

I have a thick mattress with 15cm memory foam topper which we then put on top of the original orthopedic mattress we already had, just call me princess and the pea lol it's really high and I have to climb into bed but it's damn comfortable. Plus in the morning when I'm stiff it makes it easier for me to get out of bed x

There's something called a feather bed that is amazing for fibro, it goes on top of your current mattress

I have a select comfort that is perfect. You can adjust you side anytime you need to. News for those of you with handy hubbies, all the parts are on ebay and literally you can put together a king size NOT adjustable (I did no want the adjustment feature). I just wanted to be able to adjust the firmness of my bed. I truly an the princess with the pea. I am fused from early C's to T'2 and my left hip had most of the morrow scoped out to help the fusion work. Then I tore my Right rotator cuff and the surgeon fixed the rotator currently but did not find all the tendons, and ligaments that I tore off the bone and they fixed the exactly one year later. I have always been really picky about beds. I thought it was normal to buy a new bed every 5 years since my scoliosis surgery. Good luck take your time go on a day that you are really hurting have someone else drive you.

You can look for an orthopedic mattress... I find cheaper and better to sleep in the floor... similar like they do in Japan... they have a thin mattress that goes in the floor

If I got down on the floor to lay on a mattress I don’t think I’d be able to get up!! Lol 😂 I’d be like the lady on that commercial, “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up!” Sad but true at 42! 😱🤪
