Yes!!! Case and point - I was stirring spaghetti sauce a few minutes ago (with ground beef, so there was a little more resistance than just plain tomato sauce). Apart from having a hard time holding the spoon (I also have a neck injury which affects my arms and hands), pain shot down my left leg with every movement of the spoon. I couldn't get comfortable no matter what I tried.

I have sympathy for both of you. I've got several degenerative diseases that cause me horrendous spinal pain and migraines. my cervical spine and shoulders have been operated on so many times, there is nothing left they can do to help. I have degenerative joint/disc disease, spinal Spondylosis and scoliosis. I also suffer with sciatica. I'm on tremendous amounts of meds, have had trigger point injections, nerve blocks, etc. to no avail. my pain levels run between 7-9 each and every day, all day for the last 18 years. pain keeps me up at night, I'm always tired and it makes me sad. I've been unable to work for the last 8 years and just feel like a worthless, useless blob taking up space. I wish you all the very best and hope you can get some help with your pain levels.

I was dealing with the same problem this weekend. I ended up going to th emergency room Monday to get an injection of pain medication- Toradol and Dilaudid. Then started taking percocet Tuesday. I was finally able to go to the gym today, spent a few hours in the water and spa/whirlpool. Still having trouble with my right leg, but at least I can walk now.

I can totally relate Katye. I have been suffering with that kind of pain for 6 years now. Much of the time it feels like a hot knife is slicing the back of my left leg open. Then sometimes, especially at night or after sitting and standing for too long, it feels like my toes are being cut off or a spike being hammered into my heal. And now its like that in my right leg too but not as bad yet, and its also my arms with my right arm being in agonizing pain. Just last night it felt like my right middle finger was being cut off. I can't even use my right arm and hand to do the simplest of things such as lifting a glass to drink from.

Good luck, I will give you one suggestion, surgery should be the absolute last thing you try. It didn't work for me and I ended up worse off after the surgery. The results for me have been devastating and I will likely spend the rest of my life in chronic severe pain needing massive amounts of drugs just to keep the pain below suicidal levels. However surgery has been successful for many people.
