Lumps and bumps

Nov 07, 2016 2:24 PM

Hi all, another newbie. Can I ask I've got lumps and bumps under my skin at the top of my arms and legs. They are not visible but when touched are very tender and painful. Is this normal? I've got fibromyalgia
Thanks in advance

Hi Shazzzey, welcome to the community.
Have you been to see your Dr about this because it sounds like you should. I'm sorry I can't help you more but there might be others in the community who can. You'll find that because of the many different time zones across the world there will be times where people will answer straight away or it may be a few hours before you get any replies.
I hope you get the answers your looking for x

Hi Shazzey! Those little buggers are trigger points, bits of bunched up inflamed fascia that need to be released, but when you're in a fibro flare you can hardly touch them. Alternate moist heat with ice, gentle massage and myofascial release (MFR), ibuprofen, Epsom salt bath or foot soak, reduce inflammation in the body thru your diet. Gentle hugs!

See a physical therapist or massage therapist trained in MFR (myofascial release) and trigger point therapy

Welcome Shazzzey! Are these lumps and bumps hard or soft and easily compressible? If hard I'd agree possibly fibro trigger points. But if soft and compressible the they could be lymph glands. Either way you should get in to see a doctor asap, to make sure and be treated if necessary. It could make the difference in getting sicker or not if it is lymph glands. Hugs love and prayers it's not something else! 🙂💕🙏🌸
