Sorry about your diagnosis, but it's not the end of the world. Talk to your doc about alternative therapies, but I believe a traditional route with supportive mental and physical therapies work best. Look at the research and be wary. There is no "magic" cure for Lupus. You just learn to live with it and enjoy the good days. Plan on taking some traditional meds, such as methotrexate and plaquenil. These are solid and slow the progression of the disease. Also, Benlysta infusions (FDA approved for Lupus treatment) help. A tradition doctor diagnosed you with traditional methodology, so it is logical to follow that doctor's treatment plan. Just make sure you know what you are taking, and, most importantly, why. IMHO.
