Lyrica for Fibromyalgia

Jun 16, 2017 9:54 AM

Does anyone have any experience with taking Lyrica for nerve/Fibromyalgia pain? My doctor jus prescribed 150mg a day (75mg capsule 2x daily) and I'm nervous about starting it.

It works great for my fibro.

I just started Lyrica last night for my Fibro. 100mg / day (50mg tab 2x/day). Have been having horrible foot and leg pain. Walking is almost unbearable. We shall see if it helps. Also on Baclofen and Diclofenac Sodium (Voltaren, tablets and topical gel).

I had too many side effects from Lyrica and switched to Gabapentin

I started with Gabapentin. It did nothing for me.

I was on Lyrica about 2.5 years and Gabapentin does pretty much the same nerve pain wise with less side effects for me. Each body is different. Hope it works for you!

Some people have success with it. I am not one of those. I had an allergic reaction to it. Hope you have a better experience.

I've been on Lyrica for a year now. It makes things manageable, at least painwise. You may need to adjust the dose a few times. I'm on 200mg in the morning and 300mg in the evening.

My mother is on Lyrica and she said it's a miracle drug. She says there is nothing to be nervous about, but remember to always fill it on time because you'll really hurt if you run out!

I've been on Lyrica for about four or five months now (75mg in the morning and 150mg at night). I noticed a small change once I started talking it but it hasn't gotten any better since then. I've had a little bit of weight gain, but nothing too serious. But I've found I've had cognitive issues since I started taking it. There are days I can't seem to get my mind to connect to my mouth to form words. Haha. It can definitely be frustrating! Nothing worse than being on a phone call with a client and not being able to talk and say what you want. I've also had some weird muscle twitching when trying to sleep. But nothing too major! Hoping that it will continue to be helpful. Good luck! 😊

For me lyrica gave me allergic reaction to my whole body

Jun 20, 2017 8:08 PM

Lyrica works great for me.

I have found that lyrica is the only medicine that touches my pain but it is easy to gain a resistance and if you are off of it even for a couple of hours the pain is much worse than before you took it.
