lyrica helping anyone else with neurological symptoms?

Aug 31, 2015 1:27 AM

If so, any advice on the best times of day and a heads up on future larger doses? It's doing great now.... But was on gabapentin a while and that worked till it just wore me out. So far energy seems ok

I've been on Gabapentin for over a year (2400 mg/day) & it does nothing. I'm in agony every day. I see my Dr in 2 days & was thinking about asking him to put me on Lyrica instead. Idk if it'll help or not but any advice would be helpful before i see him on Wed. Thanks

So far for me it seems to be helping. I am on the starting dose of 25 mg 2x a day but most pills you got to do that with.

Lyrica did not help me and made me so so nauseated. I've been on gabapentetin for about three yrs. if you eer switch to it, my suggestion is to switch to gabapentin NOT the slow release version gralise it made me feel like I had dementia. I was 21 when I tried that one and sore to the grocery and could not figure out how to get home. This was to my parents house where I lived for 14 yrs.

Yeah I was on gabapentin for a long time..... And just made me sleep all the time...

Lyrica after only 3 doses put me in the er. And gabapantin never helped at all. :(

It did at 1st, but not so much now. All its doing for me now is making me gain alot of weight.

Sep 09, 2015 9:43 PM

Lyrica helped me to feel like I'd been hit by a bus every morning. Plus I gained 13 kg which when your only 5foot tall is a lot of weight. I'm now on Andrepa dont know if its working yet apparently it takes about 4wks. So its not helpful with controlling the pain and the Tramadol, which is not supposed to be taken woth it doesn't work either
So its tramadol in the morning and Andrepa in the arvo all to no good!

I am up to 225mg twice a day on lyrica and take tramadol 4 x day and most of the time I still hurt. But it is a pain level now where it is more tolerable. I do have more good days than bad.

Honestly I don't know if my lyrics is working anymore = my hands stay swallon from it but I also take cymbaltia which totally cleared leg pain at 30 mg went up to 60 an my legs are awful again treamadol helps me get up and moving after taking shower first thing in morning= I still work but it's really ruff!

Oct 07, 2015 8:18 PM

Lyrica didn't help me at all i felt like I'd been hit by a bus every morning. Ithen went on Cymbalta same as you started on 30 then 60mg as well, I have stopped them as I gained 16.2kg in around 8mths and being only 5foot tall I now look like a wobbly whale! Tramadol Slow release tabs sometimes keep the pain at bay but not always. Most of my pain is in my hips and knees which makes walking and driving a nightmare most days. But I push through it. If I didn't nothing would get done.

I don't know if it was a side effect of coming off the Cymbalta, but my feet, ankles and knees all swelled up for two days!

Oct 07, 2015 10:41 PM

I was on lyrica and at first it helped with the pain but then it just stopped. I gained a good amount of weight and just like searcypain1 my moods were awful. I was always very tense, agitated, anxious and angry. I recently switched to cymbalta. Best decision ever

It made me go nuts literally. Was very emotional and not functional. Maybe something like endep might be better. Hit and miss unfortunately. I wish you all the luck with it. Xx

My doctor put me on Lyrica and all I did was sleep, I have been on, Savalla Tramadol, Cymbalta, Neurontin, klonopins, They all worked for awhile then stopped, now I'm on gapapentin and it too is not working again...

I take 10mg twice a day. Usually for breakfast and for dinner. I haven't had any side effects due to getting them all with other meds anyway. I think it's helps. It makes the pain I want to kill with ease to a dull ache. Especially my wrists. But when I start to move the pain comes back ten fold. I also take 8 Tramadol 50mg. Between 800mg and 100mg of Ibuprofen. And 8 500mg Paracetamol. Gives me some relief some times. Other times its tv on and don't move for the day.
