Maca Powder

Feb 02, 2016 2:12 AM

Hi all.
I've invested in a nutriblast and am loving it. Super easy and I'm hoping that soon I'll start feeling the benefits from the fresh goodness.

Being unable to stand long enough to cook much nowadays o find myself opting for convenience foods. Terrible I know. I'm have started blasting so that I am at least getting some decent nutrition.

In the book it has some recipes specifically targeted for fibro. I'll be happy to share some if anyone wants to try.

I've been looking into Maca powder. Seems to be some sort of super root. Claims to help with all sorts but what got my attention is that it fights fatigue! Apparently. Has anyone tried it / heard about it???

Keza, I have one and love it!!! Using it I lost 97 pound

Wow! Alwayz!! I'm hoping it has the same effect on me. I've gained so much weight!!!
I've blended before but this really does make it smoother. Kinda wishing I had skinned the kiwi fruit this morn but hey, extra fibre, hope it's worth the furry tongue.
Have you tried the maca powder?
Do you have a fav. Shake combo? X

Actually, no I haven't tried maca powder. I always loved the green apple, green grapes, spinach, 1/2 lemon and green tea

I used to make up my own sometimes. I'd take frozen strawberries, frozen dark berry mix, frozen green grapes, banana and green tea. Absolutely awesome!!! There are a lot of good recipes in the book that comes with it. Did you get the Nutra Bullet Rx

Hmmm... The problem with chronical illness is that we try almost everything to make things better. I guess Maka is a nice root, but be aware that in Denmsrk they have forbidden this is tea and additional to food because it have negative effect on your hormon system (can mess up other areas than the one for weight loss)
In Norway it is only available from prescription from your GP.
It contains a lot of Iodine and can make those who have goiter desease worse

I got given it as a present. Hmmmm. I'm using kale with frozen berries. It's yummy actually. Trying blueberry and pineapple too. Apparently blueberries are good for boosting memory. No harm in trying really.

Rarest...Thank you for the comments. I had heard that it is quite potent.
Maybe I'll proceed with caution.

I guess everything that are healthy can be dangerous if we overdo it.
To have the ingrediants in their natural amounts can be healthy, but in consentrated form it can be toxic because we are not able to adjust correctly.
Like cinnamon, I have it on my Porrige at lunch almist every day - but levels over 1/2 tea spoon is dangerous for an adult!!!!
I still eat it, but do adjust the amount 😉

Wow. Rarest. I didn't know that about cinnamon. I had used it previously also.
It's hard because so many publications about the benefits of natural products without informing us of the warnings.
It's strange how things interact with the meds too. It's just trial and error I guess. And making sure everything is in moderation.
I like the idea of home remedies but not all of them are compatible yet don't know until try.
I did use oats and dried chamomile flowers in muslin cloth to treat my skin irritations. That seems to have helped a bit and smells yummy!
:)
Thinking about using chilli infused oil as muscle rub...as the deep heat rubs are not doing my skin many favours.
Who knows.

Good luck Keza! AlwayZ, that's awesome on the weight loss. I'm very frustrated with my weight. It's up another 3 pounds at the doctor today. Ugh!!

We keep going back and forth on which machine to buy. Has anyone tried others? 🙂🙏💕🌼

I've tried the activeblend by brevile. It's much cheaper. The bottles are handy but it leaves lots of lumps and so doesn't handle nuts and seeds very well.
I would defo recommend the nutribullet. I've got the 900 model which is great. My brother has the 600 model and is just as good so not worth the extra cash unless you need the extra accessories. :)

Thanks for the kudos on the weight loss.. I do appreciate it. However I have to say that around mid fall, I stopped using it and, of course the holidays came. Well, I've probably put half of it back on. I know I've gained and then being so sick. I just stopped eating barely anything which is the WORST thing you can do because then, when you eat, you out the weight on even faster and I have no thyroid!!! I've got to get back to using it and get that weight back off. It was pretty simple when I was using it because you can make your own dressing, your own condiments, soups, protein bars, etc.. The great thing about it is that YOU control all of the ingredients that you put the into everything. The spices, the flavor, etc.. What makes it great is that nothing you make with it has ANY preservatives or chemicals or artificial flavoring. I recommend it to anyone. And I, for one, am going to get my more than ample ass in gear and start using it again! {{{{Hugs}}}} 💕🌻🙏🏻😊
