So I followed you guys advice and called the dentist yesterday. I informed the lady that answered the phone that I was still in a lot of pain. And I wanted to know if the dentist put stitches in the 2 areas that I was feeling something in. I said he only wrote a script for 10 pills and to take one every 4-6 hours. I couldn't even finish before she goes well that's just 6 pills in 24 hrs. Y'all Y'all Y'all you could have seen steam come out my head. That winch tone was rude and all, it took everything in me to not go off on her because she interrupted me in the first place. So I said wait a minute and let me finish, I have Sjรถgren's syndrome and I do not heal as fast as normal people. And I also deal with a lot of pain on a daily basis as it is. I'm not trying to throw myself into a flare. So she goes all I can do is make an appointment to be rechecked. And she couldn't even tell me if I have stitches in my gums. A couple of hours later, the dentist nurse called to do a follow up. I let her know I was still in pain and asked about whether I have stitches in my gums, she says yes she does believe he had to suture but when she looks at the notes she doesn't see anything. Today I can tell that I have stitches in my gums and that they will dissolve. Even though I made an appointment to get recheck tomorrow, I'm not going. Tomorrow is my first appointment with the Pain Clinic. I do have a question, I don't know if anybody can answer this but yesterday my mouth was really hurting so I took one of my moms morphine pills because I needed some relief. Well I know I have to give a sample of urine tomorrow, will they be able to tell between the Percocet and morphine in my urine. So I know whether to tell them that yes I have morphine in my system too.

Wow that's really rude of her! Sorry your going through this ๐Ÿ˜ž I have done a bit of googleing and morphine does show up on a urine sample depending on what there testing for and how long ago you took it ๐Ÿค” Hopefully it won't show up but if it does maybe say you were in agony and the dentist wouldn't give you anything stronger and you couldn't cope with the pain ๐Ÿ˜Š

@LittleLola I know it's an opioid and that's fine cause I am going to let them know I do have Percocet. But my adopted sister told me that they send the urine off too. So I was wondering can they tell which opioids are in my system. And my adopted sister got laid off right before my appointment. But she still gave me the ins and outs of the place.

I will just tell the truth and let them know I had oral surgery and I needed to take something stronger because of the pain.

I think that's the best things to do ๐Ÿ’•

I am sorry the dentist and all there people are so rude. I had the same experience, then my next cleaning , I told that nurse about it and she said that's not how they do things and that we need to speak up about it . Well that front desk lady wasn't there since then. I guess the nurse talked to the manager. Idk but glad it was taking care of . So don't be afraid to complain to the next nurse who ask you about pain. You should not had to take your mom's pills so you did what you had to do.

Tomorrow just be honest up front. Good Luck . I hope it goes well

Sending prayers your way . ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

Morphine is short acting (unless you took extended release form). Should be out in 24-36 hours.

I disagree with LAT!

I wouldn't say anything to them about even taking anything else but what you were prescribed!
Even if they say you had the 2 different drugs in your system...

I got codine from my doc and then went to ER and they gave me valium and delauded or whatever...she said it was something other than what was prescribed and now I'm banned!!
Even THOUGH IT CAME FROM A HOSPITAL! Doesn't matter...
I did nothig wrong! And I can't get any help now!
You want to take that chance?
In today's hysteria? If you get pain meds screw the "honesty best policy"
sure it is To screw you!
And you admit you took something wasn't prescribed? That'll be the end of your meds..

I agree with Spunky...I'm gonna ask a friend that would know if it'll show up...I think...( but let me make sure) ( and you can goggle it yourself too) but I think if they are just testing to make sure, whatever you're taking is in your system, like say hydrocodone to make that you're not selling your prescription, and that's all they would look for, all that would show...but if they are just drug testing you to check your system, then they look for everything that's there...you should Google it depending on what they are looking for...good luck

I thought about it and asked my adopted sister who had worked there until recently. She said they send the urine of but it just says whether you have opiates in your system or marijuana. It's not specific so I have a prescription for Percocet so I should be ok.

Aug 16, 2017 8:28 PM

Painelady: then I had mine dirtied if that's the case..but hey you're an adult and you do your own thing...Because admiting you've taken something wasn't prescribed by a none medical person...I didn't think I had anything to worry about...
So codeine stays in your system longer than morphine?
But I'm sure your adopted sister knows best and why bother asking us?

Aug 16, 2017 8:54 PM

@Spunky what I'm trying to ask is when they test the urine will they be able to tell that I had took Morphine exactly or will it just say opiates. And I was asking you guys because my adopted sister use to work in the front before you was laid off last week. But when I asked for advice from the group I hadn't asked her yet so that's why I bothered to ask for opinions. In the end with any advice I get, it's still up to me to make the final call. Which I have decided not to tell them I took the morphine cause I was in a lot of pain from oral surgery. I will just present my Percocet bottle as requested by them with the rest of my meds. Thank you all for your advice. Hugs to everyone๐Ÿ’œ

Painelady are you better or still in pain? I think you gave an update; but I can't seem to find it...hope all is well..all my best

Aug 23, 2017 1:50 AM

@Spunky, I'm doing much better now. It's just that one site that was giving me trouble but it's finally healing.

Aug 23, 2017 6:55 AM

Seems it takes us longer to heal; doesn't it? I had scraped my leg when I fell through my roof while I was working on it back in May and it doesn't look like it healed much--so I can imagine in a softer tissue..
I'm glad you're healing.
Is this all the dental you're having done or are you in need of more? All my best

Aug 23, 2017 11:59 AM

@Spunky that is so true about how long it takes to heal. My mouth is getting better and that one area that I was having trouble with is trying to heal a little bit. As far as dental work left that I have to get done is just a cleaning and that's it. Thank you for checking on me, it's means a lot because you guys understand exactly what we go thru because you guys are dealing with health issues too. So I appreciate this support group. My Dad asked me yesterday if I joined a support group online and I told him how I belong to a couple on Facebook but this one is my first support group that I had joined and this one is the most supportive people there is and how I only talk on this one too. So I'm so grateful for you guys. BIG HUGS ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ
