Hi everyone, I did have the facet joint injections done this morning. Holy hell, that hurt like nobody's business but at least it's finished. Ice for now, rest and low key activity for the next 2 days. Going back to sleep now. Fentanyl is messing with me already.
PJB, yes it was truly worth it. The only discomfort I'm having right now is just some muscle soreness from the needle itself. Have taken 1 ibuprofen all day and that's it. FlappysLady, one more question. When you had yours done, did your hair and skin get like extremely oily? I just washed my hair a little bit ago and it needs to be washed again. It's gross.
Amanda, to be honest I can't remember that far back...2012. Lol fibro fog strikes again! My hair has always been oily so I've always washed it daily, unless I'm too sick. I may not have noticed it it did get oiler. 🙏🌼
I am so happy to hear that you made it through and that you woke up without horrible pain. I will Keep you in my prayers that the relief continues. As far as the sciatica, it's possible that being so close to where the injection was that it flared up. Try sitting on a donut pillow so there is no pressure when you are trying to sit and relax. Hope this is helpful.. 💕
Flappys and Alwayz, thanks so much for the suggestions. I've tried the ice and the donut pillow but so far, no relief. Going to call here in a bit. Something is not sitting well with me and this is not normal for me.
I had two rounds of injections in my spine a few years ago. So painful however I had a bad reaction to the injection. Each time I had the procedure done I was unable to walk without assistance almost instantly and it lasted for up to 4 days. Lots of swelling at injection site. I have had a few friends who have had great success with the treatment. I really hope it will be successful for you. Sending positive vibes your way.
Okay, so I just heard back from this morning. Ice, heat, continue pain meds. Takes about 1-2 weeks to get full relief. Also got an email from the insurance adjustor this morning. They are going to be contacting me soon about having an independent physician evaluate injury and treatment. Not liking the sound of that at this point.
Amanda, whatever you do, it they send you to another take someone with you! I was in my 20s when I got hurt on the job. They convinced me it was standard practice for a rep to be in the exam roll-on with their choice of doctors. I got totally screwed over! I have a permanent 5% back injury disability back then. My spine/headaches have worsened in the areas that was injured. Tell them either someone of your choice goes with you, of you'll record everything. Protect yourself! Hugs & prayers for a good outcome! 🙏🌼
Amanda, what Flappsy is telling you is extremely important and sound advice!! If they send you to a doctor of their choosing make sure you bring someone with you. Make sure you have all the info from the other doctor handy. If you can't get someone to go with you, record everything on your cell this way there is no way for them to say they told you something they didn't or visa versa. Even if you DO get to bring someone, I would still have THEM record the visit on their phone or have them hang onto yours and record the visit. I'll be praying for you and keep us posted. 💕🙏🏻🌻
Thanks guys. Much appreciated on the advice. I will make sure to do that. My only problem with this is is that Delaware is such a small state, and I don't have a whole lot of good experiences with most of the surgeons in our county. Hopefully, they can schedule it in a different county for that reason but I'm not sure they will. We shall see. Also, it doesn't help matters when they said it's an outside company. I thought what the Sam hell?
It's an outside company because it's who they use to diagnose problems and try to save themselves money by using them. You'll do just fine as long as you're prepared. You're a very smart young lady and have a good head on your shoulders. You will do just fine!! Hang in there and remember that we're all behind you! 💕
I do actually have somebody available to take me that day as well as to the next appointment with the Orthopaedic spine specialist who I might add, I don't particularly care for and don't feel entirely comfortable with either.
Amanda please ask if you have any Tarlov cysts, when they act up they feel like sitting on hot rocks around the tail bone and then sometimes the pain will radiate down to the toes but not a straight path or even the hips might feel like someone is prying on them. Good luck.
Zeta, the only issue with that is that my ortho is not nice at all(will be glad to be rid of him). He keeps saying there is nothing on the MRI that should be causing my pain at this point. So I hesitate to ask any questions of him at all.
Amanda, you own your body and pay his fee, get your money's worth. I had to tell my family doctor whom I really like that I didn't like her attitude about me going to a specialist that she didn't recommend. She came back in the room and apologized for being rude to me. Then she took the papers i had printed about my cysts and sat down and read them with me, then she agreed that I should have put her in her place, because I forced her to update her knowledge.
