I started off taking 500mg a day and then increased it to 1000 and now I'm working on 1500. Start slow because too much will give you diarrhea. I also take HTP, vitamin D and melatonin. You may need and few months of medications though if your fibro is flaring and untreated. Good luck and your appointment:)
I take magnesium as well. I also take B Complex, Vitamin D with Calcium, turmeric, removed gluten from my diet (most of it anyway), eat fresh, organic herbs like Basil, Sage and Ginger. Dark leafy greens are also good. All of these help with inflammation. I've been looking for a naturopath to help me out, but have not found one in my plan. I may not find one, but even if there isn't one in my plan, I'm going to see one. I went to pain management on Monday and my doctor of 20 years is no longer going to be in practice. I'm devastated, he's been awesome and done a lot for me. He is bringing in another doctor and it will be alright... I have enough faith in him to know he would not leave his patients with someone he didn't trust.
