Pelvic floor massage? That might be something you or your lover could do. You want to find the "micro spasms" and then just gently press them, slightly increase the pressure when you can, and then include the area just around that pain. Then move on to the next teeny area of pain. Work both peritoneum and inside. Take your time. It's not a race, it's for healing.

I've used this method deep in my hip joint and it stopped my back spasms, and between each toe to stop pain on the the bottom of my foot. It's amazing how far the pain can refer, but the gentle pressing or even just touching a spot can help. Also along the edge of my pelvic bones to help a little with cramps.
Can't help with the mammo, it's just designed to bruise and make us cry! As far as the manual exam, just let the doctor know that is a fibro area, and assure them that you are doing your own monthly exam as much as you can. They should respect your pain and skip that part.

And thanks for being brave and getting this done! I had cervical cancer in the late 80s because the military delayed treatment. Very long story, but anyway I am in the doctor's office every year for my follow ups!!!

I put mine off because of pain for years and finally went. I too have tons of cancer in my family. I told them about how much pain I am in everyday and how much just laying on the table would hurt not to mention other issues. They were quick and as gentle as they could deep breaths for the spectrum pain and just keep breathing and talking to keep your mind busy. It went super quick and wasn't as bad as I had built it up in my mind.

Omg, PrincessChaos, your treatment description sounds like pelvic floor dysfunction physical therapy! The treatment is done using one of those infrared ultrasound type wand (internal).

WagnerTJ1977, I have fibro and pelvic floor dysfunction, which causes cramps and spasms among the various pelvic floor tendons, muscles, & ligaments. It creates pain and dysfunction with the bladder/urethra, rectum, and genial organs. My PCP have me Levsin to use when the spasms start and it helps relax these muscles and internal tissues. I'm not sure if this is helpful. Hugs & prayers it will not be as painful as you fear! My gyn, GI, colon, & pcp docs are very gentle for any exams. 🙂💕🙏🌼

I hope that you are able to relax and remember that it's a quick exam. Count the tiles on the ceiling, talk to the doctor about a vacation you took or if you have to, make jokes.. Last time I went. I asked the doc why he took his watch off... I didn't think he needed to worry about losing it. Then, when he was doing the exam, he was chatting with me and I asked him if he was getting an echo... LOL!!! Anything to pass the time. It'll be over before you know it. Don't let your brain talk you into worrying about this. You got this, it'll be ok. {{Hugs}}💕🙏🏻🌻

TJ, the best thing you can do to get through it is to just try to relax. I know that is easier said then done. Before I switched to my current gyn, I had the most awful time with going in. Still do if it's the wrong person(long story). I can say that I don't really have that issue with being so tense any more. It does help If like Alwayz said, Do anything you can to pass the time. I usually just end up rolling my eyes at mine with his corny jokes but that does make it easier.
