Welcome to the community 7autoimmunes! I can't remember if I greeted you elsewhere. Lol, Fibro fog! I have Fibromyalgia, sjogrens, hypothyroidism (all AI), OA, DJD, TMJD, neuropathies, migraines & cervicogenic headaches, cervical fusions C4-C7, spine issues all the way down from facet stenosis, bulges, tears, etc, pelvic congestion syndrome & leg vein reflux, changes in my heart, nodules in my lung, breast, & vocal chords, pelvic floor dysfunction, IBS-C with incontinence issues, bladder issues, hip & knee arthritis, CTS, trigeminal neuralgia, vestibular Neuronitis which causes imbalance, dizziness, & vertigo, weaknesses especially on my dominant right side, mental loss/dementia from changes in the right frontal lobe. Asthma, and I honestly can't remember others I know I'm forgetting. Lol. They did a spinal tap for MS but it came back fine, but the doc said if it is ms it could take years to see the evidence on tests; I have multiple symptoms per multiple docs. Sorry for the long list. I think almost everyone on here is dealing with multiple issues, and those with AI diseases generally have more than one. Sometimes it's frustrating because treating one thing complicates another. πŸ™‚πŸ™πŸŒΌπŸ’•

I won't even start my list. You are home here.

I have hypothyroidism, chronic kidney disease, cfs, fibro, severe depression, heel spurs, asthma, have just started to get over plantar f'. I'm utterly convinced we have fibro because the body is 'shocked' due to other illnesses in our bodies!! 😨

Jan 30, 2016 2:50 AM

Oh and quiet bad IBS! To boot!! 😒

BishBosh, it sounds like you sure have your hands full. It's truly a nightmare to have all of these illnesses. Sometimes you do have to wonder because some have been diagnosed with Fibro and other autoimmune diseases jump on board. Others have painful diseases and then are diagnosed with fibro. So, was it in the background the entire time or was it there first?? (What came first, the chicken or the egg?) so, it really is something that makes you wonder. I have a list as long as my arm of things that are wrong with me. However, the one thing that is definitely right is that I have this wonderful pain family with me and I always love to reach out and help whoever I can. {{{Hugs}}} πŸ’•πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒ»πŸ˜Š

I have multiple dx, but so far not ms. I have CRPS/RSD, neuropathies, asthma, MTHFR gene mutations, migraine, hypothyroid , and more. You're not alone.

Jan 30, 2016 1:36 PM

Hey Ferretbandit I just found out last month after having that swab test that they do with scraping the moutH and I have the MFTHR Gww

Jan 30, 2016 1:39 PM

That was SUPPOSED to say the MTHFR Gene mutation!!

Jan 30, 2016 2:52 PM

I wonder how many of these illnesses were around prior to the industrial revolution or before the influx of synthetic toxins.

Jan 30, 2016 3:08 PM

I believe that mankind and our industry and technologies are responsible for the increase in illnesses like this. There were probably some very rare cases before. There were a couple studies done in northern Alberta, at the request of locals, that showed a high rate of rare illnesses and cancers in some communities downstream of oil developments. Of course there is no proof that its linked to the oil sands or industry. Our food supply is less nutritious because of the way its grown. We are killing ourselves as a whole

I figure there were, and always will be many illnesses, we are all just lucky that we live in a time period where disability doesn't guarantee death, like in the wild. Yeah, humans (like me) are kinds dumb about thinking of the future, but we really don't understand anything until it happens. I'm just glad I'm not dead, like if I had my same diseases long ago.

Plus, genetics! Some of our illnesses are because humans adapted to new environments, but then the change caused more problems than they solve.

Always, is it also the C677T mutation? I've heard there are 5 or 6 different versions of a similar mutation. Cool, but that's yet another dx to add to your list.

Thanks everyone for responding. I don't feel so alone. You're proof that we can and do go on with our lives (in whatever ways we can). I'm grateful for this forum.

I also have multiple diagnosis: facet joint arthropathy(L4-S1), sacroilitis, SI joint dysfunction, spina bifida occulta(very mild), DJD(right knee, left ankle), asthma, depression, anxiety, PTSD, TMJ, MRSA carrier(ugh!!!!), and I'm sure there is more, just can't remember off the top of my head

Jan 30, 2016 8:59 PM

I get you, I did forget to mention depression, PTSD, and... Though I try not to focus on it all the Sx are a constant reminder. Also, I lived near two oil refineries growing up, I too wonder about that.
