Medical Marijuana vs. Opiotes

Sep 08, 2017 4:33 AM

For those of you that use marijuana, I have some questions for you. I am in Michigan where it is legal. I have my card but I just got it and haven't started with consumption. I currently am ok opiodes for the pain but would love to make the switch completely to MMJ. However I was told by my doctor the DEA doesn't allow you to have a card and be prescribed opiodes so I would have to choose. I'm concerned it won't control the pain if I go to it and I will be left with no other options. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Does the doc say that you can try it and switch back to your old meds if I have to or is it just a done deal?

I’d try cannabis first. If it doesn’t work then surrender medical card and go back to opioids. This should not be any different than trying a new medication. If the med doesn’t work you switch to something else. Right?

Cannibas has been (rated by patients) shown to work better than standard fibromyalgia meds. No sure what your condition is but cannibas pretty much helps everything with minimal side effects. Good luck.

Interesting. I live in a state where it's not legal anyway. I have fibromyalgia, scoliosis, degenerative disc disease, arthritis, chronic fatigue and have had back surgery.

@Yolanda Is this legit or a sting operation? Everything is super expensive. I guess if someone can afford it and they are willing to take a huge risk receiving delivery cannabis, it might be worth it. Have you used this service? If so, what was your experience?

How is that possible if they are bringing Marijuana in states where it is not permitted that's drug trafficking. 🤤I wouldn't trust that at all. I wouldn't want any strange person coming to my house to deliver drugs to me.😦Plus you don't know if it laced with something that can cause you harm or death. 😧 Personally if I wanted to try it I would wait until it is legal in my state or move to a state where it is legal.

I'm not in the US I'm in the UK so it's illegal everywhere here but I definitely wouldn't trust that! As Mocha said it would be drug trafficking!!

I am not ordering. It sounds like a police sting. You buy online and get arrested once you order. No thanks. I was just curious how this works. I have friends with medical cards in legal states but they go to dispensary. This might help more disabled people who can’t get to dispensary.

That person has been all over this forum trying to sell marijuana illegal. Do not fall for that shit. Report the account.

Well, l see my friends in Michigan going through random drug tests for mj and if they test positive they can be dropped. So if you are going to max out on pain meds and smoke pot, then what is next??? You can only do so much and less is more. My friends drink smoke get high and take meds and are zonked out and irrational driving around.

I truly don't understand why marijuana is illegal and alcohol consumption is legal.... this makes no sense and pisses me off. Mainly because marijuana has so many amazing positive effects on people and healing aspects as well as treating or slowing down illnesses... on the flip side... people can overdose on opiates and become truly addicted to them.. alcohol consumption harms the body and people can die from over drinking or do irrational things while under the influence.. I dont know, I just feel like its backwards..... kinda venting..

Prettylady44 I agree. As long as people are of legal age and not being stupid by driving I have no problem with pot. It is impossible to overdose on pot-period. It helps me more than any pill or patch has ever.
