Welcome to the group, I just joined myself and these are the best people to help what your going thru. I also was prescribed the gaba but I never got it from the pharmacy because someone actually started a convo about it. It's in another post and everyone said it made them gain weight and did nothing for their pain. But there are a couple that said it does work for them. I know being sick is scary, I wake up every morning scared. But you have come to the right place. We all go thru it together.

Right now I am on 3200mg of Gaba and Nucynta. I like the Gaba. It doesn't take the pain away but it does lessen it. There are a lot of scary side effects possible with it but that's like every other medicine out there. As you can see, everyone has different reactions/thoughts on meds. I know the pain is scary. I've been doing this for almost 2 yrs now and it's still scary to me. There is so much unknown and my pain changes, literally, minute to minute. This is a good place to go to talk and ask questions though. Welcome to the group!

Welcome to our family of chronic pain. I take 800 mg of Gabapentin 4 x day, and Savella 100 mg x 2 day for Fibro they have really helped me. I also take 50 mg Fentonyl Patches, and Hydrocodn/Acetaminophen7.5/325 every 6 hrs as needed for pain plus several other meds for different things.

Welcome Vix3642! I have Fibro, GERD, Sjogrens, and IBS-C, along with many other issues. I'm on magnesium, Senokot-S, citrucel with Psyllium fiber for the IBS-C; Tylenol Arthritis, & Tramadol for the fibromyalgia, & gabapentin for neuropathy; and I take Nexium for the GERD. My meds do well enough I guess, since I'm allergic to most pain meds. I'm only on a low dose of gabapentin for the neuropathy, which it helps. But the gabapentin doesn't help the fibro pain. I get better relief from the Plaquenil that was started in May for my Sjogrens. I have gained weight, 30+ lbs, but I can't contribute it to one med. I'm on antidepressants and anxiety meds along with Hypothyroidism meds, and almost every med I take has weight gain as a side effect.

Are the stomach pains you get from IBS constipation? I have to drink 120+ oz of water a day due to the Sjogrens, because it worsens the IBS-C. Don't be surprised if you have to change a couple of times to find what works best for you. We aren't all alike, not does every med work for everyone. I think most of us have gone through a couple of med changes. Hugs, love, & prayers you will find all the support you need here. 🙂💕🙏🌼
