Meds provide no relief.

I thought the meds the doctor had me on worked. They are planning on taking me off Nycenta 50mg. I've been in the usual excruciating pain before stopping. Haven't taken anything since 3PM yesterday (23 hours ago).

No difference... So I don't see any point taking them if they're weaning me off for no legitimate reason. Oh well.

I am waiting on hearing back from another doctor I've been referred to (by a different doc. Not my existing clinic). Will hear back next week. Plan is to install a pain pump or pain meds. Hopefully something effective.

I'm not familiar with Nucenta. One of the main reasons doctors wean people off, rather than stopping suddenly, for certain meds is because of withdrawal effects that can occur such as tiredness, tremors, appetite changes, seizures, and fainting. This may be why your doctor is trying to wean you off instead of telling you to just stop completely.

His reasoning at this point is because of federal regulations. If I don’t have cancer I shouldn’t be on opioids. Second, I refused to having a 7th surgery of which the last three spinal cord stimulators all failed to provide relief. He took over my care after my doctor I was seeing left the practice. The current doctor is also someone I fired three years ago for the same reason. He wanted surgery and not meds. It’s his personal opinion that chronic pain patients exaggerate the pain they are in.

In stead of finding a reasonable solution... he is stopping treatment altogether. Nucyenta has no withdrawal or side effects.

Sounds like it's time to find a new doctor. Sorry that you are not getting the support that you deserve.
