Migraines affecting a certain side of the body,

Jan 15, 2016 8:37 AM

OK so last night before bed my daughter told me that she had a migraine headache and that the whole right side of her body was weak. Has anyone ever had this issue when having a really bad migraine?? I put a call into her neurologist office and am waiting for a call back.

Sometimes when you get a really bad migraine, you can experience weakness on the side that the migraine is on. It doesn't happen to me often, but it has happened to me. I also tend to lose about 1/3 of the vision in my eye on that side and it's not fun. It's a good idea that you called her neurologist as a precaution. Better to be safe than sorry. Sending {{Hugs}} and prayers that your daughter is ok and her migraine ebbs very soon. πŸ’•πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒ»

I have had so.e general weakness. I'm new to migraine headaches but I've had 8 in the few days. And they really took me out.

Her neurologist office finally called me today and we are at the er now as per his orders. They are going to give her some medications to knock out the migraine, here's praying it works

Moparmom, I'm glad that he finally called you back. I'm sorry you had to go to the ER, that sucks. But as I said earlier, better safe than sorry. I am sending big gentle {{Hugs}} and prayers that the medication helps and your daughter is feeling much better, very quickly. πŸ’•πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒ»

I get vision loss and severe nausea, but I don't think I have had one sided weakness. Glad you are at the er. Best to get checked out. Let us know how she is doing and what the doctor said. I hope she feels better soon.

She is feeling much better today then yesterday, she had a twinch of a headache but nothing near what it was before! It helped that the doctor on call has Chronic Migraines and she ran tests and it came back normal so it was just a nasty side effect from the Migraine. Lol once hers left it jumped to me, but I took my medications immediately and it took 8+ hours to get rid of. God Bless all and have a blessed night's sleep with lite to no pain!

Isn't that always the way?? You finish taking care of someone else and then just for good measure, the migraine figures it'll just add an extra kick in the ass for the day... LOL!!!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜³ I'm glad your daughter feels better. I thought it was a side effect of the migraine but like I said, better safe than sorry. Glad you were able to get rid of yours but sorry you had to suffer for 8+ hours.. Sending you lots of love, gentle {{{Hugs}}} and prayers that you have a better day. πŸ’•πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒ»

Lol! Sure is Alwayz! Tomorrow is a busy day for me, I have a Dr's appointment in the morning and then after that I have to drive 3 hours away to pick up my Aunt's ashes and then onto Hobby Lobby to get a nice trunk (small) to put the ashes in until the drive to the funeral home where her plot is. Then Finally I get to go home! Lol!!
