I have terrible migraines. I get them on almost a daily basis. I take so much medicine that it all just makes me sick at this point. does anyone have any recommendations on more natural ways to deal with migraines?

I'm so sorry to hear about your migraines. I, too, suffer with them. I usually get anywhere from 3-4 a week. unfortunately I have several chronic pain conditions that contribute to the migraines. the only thing I can do is stay in a darkened room, no noise, compresses on my forehead and either do breathing excercises or meditate. I am on a lot of meds as well and carry a pain level of at least an 8 ON 100mg of morphine. talk to your doctor about trying different medication. best of luck to you.

Hi there,
I have had chronic daily migraines for the last 9-10 years. I have also tried to a of different medications with no relief. I have noticed that taking a multivitamin and magnesium helps to reduce the severity of them sometimes.

Thank you for the responses. I just recently started magnesium myself at the recommendation of my neurologist but it hasn't been long enough to see any results yet. It's encouraging to hear that it does help others though. Thanks again.

I've had migraines since 2003 and I recently started seeing a chiropractor. they aren't nearly as frequent now. maybe you should look into seeing one. it's expensive but very much so worth it.

try eliminating gluten from your diet. I had horrible migraines and went on a strict low carb diet Atkin's specifically, no more migraines. started eating gluten here and there and ended up admitted to the hospital with a 5 day migraine. back to gluten free for me!!! you should try it. it takes about 14 days for it to all be out if your system. it's worth a try. I'm also caffeine free.

A friend of mine who got daily migraines found beta blockers helped her. Good luck, I hope you find relief soon.

amazing that you went to diet as culprit in some of the pain. good idea, I know processed foods contributed to my condition. started green juice and that helped a great deal as well as cutting out some of the processed food and meats. I am trying organic veggies.

do you drink diet drinks? aspartame is a big cause of migraines both my mum, my son and myself suffer with them when we have drunk or eaten anything containing aspartame. my mum actually had to retire with ill health due to her migraines but since finding out about aspartame her migrains have gone!

Hi I'm 23 and a few months ago I started to get constant really bad headaches that were incredibly hard to get rid of. I would get them up to 4 times a week and were very disruptive to my life. After 2 visits to the doctor, I was diagnosed with migraines a couple of months ago when I told her about my sensitivity to bright light. She prescribed 2 medications. The first one was Panadeine Fort (Paracetamol (500mg) With Codeine (30mg)) and the other one was Sandomigran (Pizotifen (0.5mg)) to help prevent and reduce the severity of the migraine. I am very pleased to tell you that the Sandomigran works incredibly well. I haven't needed to use the Panadeine Fort at all.
