Wow what a good thread idea! Thank you Daniel & others who asked about this. Share your comments & ideas for how to help our practioners understand. I suspect it is more common than I realize. It is very common for me & I feel so bad because my no show means lost income for my doctors. Will write more on this topic soon.
There are some appointments that if you even miss 1 appointment without giving them 24 hours notice they discharge you from their clinic. You need to prove very special circumstances for them not to discharge you like being taken to A&E, if you say you was in too much pain and forgot they don't take kindly to that at all (depending on the clinic!)
My neurologist charges $50 for a missed appt. He is treating me for MS, one of my Dx which scrambles cognition and leaves me with a memory full of holes. I use all of the tech, practical and brain exercises to try and get better but . . . It's not enough. Feel like am being penalized for my illness, by the physician treating it.
