Hello everyone, I just got the results back from my MRI. It says I have cervical spondylosis. Has anyone heard, or familiar with this. I also have bulging discs, bone spurs, and fluid. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 2013. Do you think this un treated injury to my neck 10 years ago caused fibromyalgia? Sorry so much to answer, I'm just really trying to figure this all out. The injury to my neck happened 10 years ago as a victim to domestic violence. I haven't treated my neck because I hate opening those old wounds, of almost dieing from domestic violence.

Cervical spondylosis-shoulder = federation with pain, also known as spinal arthritis, from age related wear & tear, or injuries. I have it and it is all down my spine, along with the bulges, tear, and facet stenosis. It causes me stiffness and pain, especially cervicogenic headaches (dx last yr). Not much to do with mine except heat, ice, voltaren gel, and epidural steroid injx (ESI's). I've already had previous neck surgery 2x and the risk of another to correct the collapsing disks is too great for paralyzing me. Did you get the dx from a neurologist or orthopedist? They'll want you to likely go through pain management. Get a good compassionate specialist.

On fibro, there are studies that show trauma can bring on fibro but they say it's usually within a short time of the trauma to your body. Other people have gotten it without trauma. So who knows which studies are right.

My symptoms started in 2007-2008 while my body had undiagnosed inflammation going on. In 2010 they removed a large paraovarian cyst from my pelvis and in 2012 I was officially dx with fibro. Now I also have Sjogrens and hypothyroidism, all autoimmune (AI) issues. From what others here have told me, they usually get several AI diseases. The stenosis may have come from the injury, and possibly the fibro. I really can't answer for sure yes or no.

But a good pain specialist is a key to coping, and a good rheumatologist. Good luck finding the right ones. You'll be in my prayers. 🙏🌼

Melram1981, I also have cervical spondylosis along with fibro and other ailments. Mine was not caused by injury. They told me that they didn't know why my neck went so bad. I have a feeling that it had to do with the 8 surgeries I had on my cervical spine. I hope they are able to make you comfortable. Sending prayers your way.🌻🙏🏻

Just keep us posted so we'll know any specifics to pray for. My damage to my neck has probably come from a high slide fall in 5th grade, and 4 auto accidents in 10 years (only 1 my fault). I do think my fibro is due to the inflammation that was in my bloodwork from the mass. But I also have a cousin on both sides with it. Could just be genetic. (((Hugs))) 🙏🌼
