MRI today

Oct 03, 2017 8:46 PM

Hi Everyone!
I'm new to this community. I recently suffered a low back injury at work while lifting a patient. I've been in severe pain since. My life has completely changed.
The doctor put me out of work and I'm now dealing w workers comp. :(
I'm seriously stressed out.
I attached pics of my MRI. I'm waiting for results but I'm pretty sure I see a disc herniation at L5/S1 and some DDD.
Anyone who wants to chat is welcome.
Thanks! :)

Welcome to the community MaineMama207! We are very supportive. I'm sorry you injured your back and you're in pain. Have they said anything about treatment?

That definitely looks like a disc Herniation to me, but I'm not a medical professional.

Thank you everyone!
I'm heading in to see the w/c doctor in a bit. I'm unsure if the will have the report from my MRI yet.
I'll keep you posted.

We haven't discussed treatment yet. That's the next step

They've been just treating the pain and treating this as a muscle strain.
I finally saw a better doctor (after seeing several others) who ordered the MRI and actually listened to me.
I've lost feeling in my right leg (mostly in the foot)... It's scary to drive when it acts up! I can't feel the pedals!
Anyway, I'm anxious to see the results of this scan!

Yea. I randomly lose feeling in my hands and sometimes my feet. Very scary when you are driving. I work at a retail store with lots of glass and i get really nervous I'm going to drop it one of these days when my hands go numb. Welcome. Keep us updated. We really do care.

Well turns out I have TWO herniated discs and an annular tear at L5/S1
:(
I'm seeing an ortho surgeon Friday morning.

I was just diagnosed with 2 herniated discs and arthritis of the spine at age 49. Recommending nerve block injections for me but cost $250 and can't afford. 😣

Geez... are there any other options for treatment for you?
