Multi area pain

May 13, 2018 6:34 PM

This started over 6 years ago with localised pain in my groin, hip and leg on my left size. Now
I have wide spread pain in legs, hips, lower back, upper back-neck and my wrist, I’ve had 3 mri scan blood test and been to pain clinic on 3 occasion, Doctors have more or less given up on me because they can’t come up with any answers . I also take gadapentin and tramabol these help slightly but most days my pain level is about an 8 but I do have a high pain tolerance.

Have you been assessed for Fibromyalgia? Fibromyalgia causes widespread pain and a long list of other symptoms.

Sounds like fibromyalgia

Hi Russkeycoggs, your symptoms sound like fibromyalgia to me. I have very similar pain areas to you. Ask your Dr to assess you for this. It is a long process, they have to rule out other causes such as arthritis etc then once everything else has been ruled out they look into fibromyalgia. There are certain pressure points they use - I believe it's 18 in total - that is attributed to a diagnosis of fibromyalgia.

Good luck. Take care,

Thanks everyone that’s what I was thinking but getting nowhere with Drs it’s like pass the parcel from dr to dr.

A GP I work for said to me that fibromyalgia is one of the most misunderstood conditions there is. Have you seen a rheumatologist? 🌈

Russ, have you read your reports on those MRI? I mean the one coming from the radiologist, not what your doctor weeds down. That is how I found out I have a rare disease.
