Muscles aches bad!!

Jan 22, 2016 7:40 AM

Idk if anyone else had this but at times I get severe muscle aches. They are so bad I can barely walk and it hurts to touch my muscles. It doesnt happen on a regular basis and just started this past year. But when it happens, like now, anything hurts. When you add it to my lupus, nueropathy and severe joint pain it becomes almost to much. I try and stay positive but it really worries me. I have a big problem talking to my Dr's because I either freeze up or feel like I am just complaining but if anyone has any good advice for opening up to my Dr I would appreciate that as well. When I was growing up we were taught unless you are dying then don't complain. So now I have a real problem talking to drs.... I know it's crazy but it's true lol.... Thanks for taking the time to read this and have a great weekend pain free hopefully

Try using a hot water bottle , microwavable wheat bag or a heat pad. I find they help when my muscles are playing up. Gentle hugs hope you are in less pain soon . xx

Sounds like you like me need a big heated blanket to cover head to toe. With regard to doc, write it all down and give it to him to read, just say I have trouble expressing things so this is what's going on and hand him it, give him time to read it before speaking. I do it when I have that problem. Xx

Bschuler, you need to remember that when you are speaking to the doctor, you're not complaining, you're describing a symptom. If you do not explain what you are feeling, then he can't effectively help you. Keep an open and honest dialogue with your doctor. If he/she seems to dismiss your symptoms, it may be time to see a new doctor. I have so many symptoms and they are forever changing. I always tell my doctor what I am feeling at that moment and what changes have occurred since my last visit. Since you're having widespread muscle pain, I would suggest dressing warmly and perhaps using a heating blanket. That may relax the muscles enough to help the pain. You may also want to take a muscle relaxant (if they've been prescribed to you). Sending you gentle {{{Hugs}}} and prayers that you get some relief and that you're doctor can remedy the situation. πŸŒ»πŸ™πŸ»

bshuler, Sometimes I have so much to tell my doc that I make a list of each thing, keeping her description brief but on point. I hand it to my doctor to read, and he goes over everything with me. Ever since the fibro and memory loss started, if I don't have a list I forget important things. And usually my hubby goes with me, and folks in blanks when my mind freezes on me. Maybe you could try using a list and having someone with you.

As for the muscle pain, a heated blanket does sound like a great idea. I always take a warm, but not hot, shower which helps some. I any do baths because I can't get in/out of the tub. I bought some Cuddle Dudz undergarments (ladies long John style but much softer). It not only keeps me warm, but seems to help with my fibro muscle pain. Try doing some very gentle stretches, just to the point you feel it but not overstretching. I also use Voltaren gel (rx) to rub into my muscles. Do you have any type of pain ointment to use? I hope my suggestions are helpful. Fibro muscle knots are very painful. Hugs & prayers you get some relief soon! πŸ™‚πŸ™πŸŒΌπŸ’•

Yeah, I get all over muscle pain and weakness. Like yesterday, which was just triggered by jaw pain and stress. It's hard.

I got diagnosed w lupus in 2009 for yrs I self medacated and now since April 2015 I decided to get clean been clean ever since. But now I don't know what or how to deal w this. In the summer I'm dead tired I wanna sleep in the cold I hurt so bad I don't wanna move at all. I'm always freezing. My boyfriend doesn't get what lupus is . I hate complaining but it just hurts me to walk down the stairs. He said everyone has pain and he says that I'm never happy its too hot or too cold . what can I really do???

Livinwlupus, have you had your thyroid checked; T3 & T4 levels? I've got Hypothyroidism and stay cold when everyone else is in shorts and short sleeves. πŸ™‚πŸ™πŸŒΌπŸ’•

Hi bshuler76. Same promblem here. I have problem talking to my Dr. I freeze up or forget to tell her how I feel. Now I write how I am feeling and what I want to tell her. Maybe you could try this.
