Hi all. Let's try to take our minds of the pain for a second.
What is your go to music when you feel your absolute worst?
I know I'm really not doing well at all when P!nk is what I'm listening to. I usually do music that borders between hard rock and metal, she is not that genre.

My relaxing music is Moby ordead men can't dance. But my up beat would be grime or a bit o garage music anything that makes me want to dance. Actually most of the chart music works too. Thank you for the reminder xx

When I'm unwell I listen to a lot of gospel music and turn my thoughts to God and know he is with me through this. My go to song is His eye is on the sparrow. This song also reminds me to never stop my dream of singing - I sing because I'm happy!! I sing because it makes me happy!! xx

I also listen to gospel, it not only helps me focus on God, but it also reminds me I can make it through anything. It reminds me I am an overcomer and I can continue to move foward in spite of my circumstances. I really don't have a specific song. I love J. Moss, Hezekiah Walker, Kirk Franklin, Cecelia Winans, Yolanda Adams to name a few. I try to listen to Pandora everyday. It really changes my mindset.

LOL Gotobef!!! I listen to easy listening or big bands when I feel like shit. Sometimes The Mills Brothers, Glen Miller (I'm showing my age!!), other times I listen to Latin music, country, even Broadway tunesπŸ™„πŸ˜³ Whatever will take my mind off of it at the moment. I love Pink and Meghan Trainer, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Prince, any 70's dance music, doowop, rock-a-billy, plain old shit kickin music. Sometimes I can't stand to listen to anything. Then I have to put tv on for background sound and just ignore everything. Feel better. {{Hugs}} and prayers. πŸ’•πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒ»πŸ˜Š

When I really feel like crap(like today), I find myself listening to Casting Crowns a LOT, also Mandisa, Chris Tomlin, Chris Rice, anything that is soothing.

I listen to Alice in Chains, os like a lullaby for my soul

Ironicly what calms me down is a lot of Chelsea smile(very hardcore screamo) I dont listen to that stuff much anymore. More into hoizer, pretty reckless( btw the leading singer is the little girl from the grinch, she changed, a lot look her up lol) But for some reason really hardcore stuff really calms me down

My musical genre list is very widespread but I CANNOT listen to heavy metal with all that screaming and I hate classical and opera.

On music, when I was in labor one of the universities was doing a research study with moms and newborns. They found that the music affected the heart rate and the pain levels. The ones that helped was southern gospel, and nature sounds. Those were best then classical was next. Rock in any format made it worse and caused the babies to be unsettled. Country was "unremarkable", lol.

Zetarlov, funny you say that. I've been told I was never a normal baby, but the music that unsettles me are the choir-ish ones (stepmom had me listen to something "soothing and angelic" gave me nightmares instead ) , recorded nature sounds (love real rain, real waves, but tense up if it's recorded), and especially classical music. Most is just a bore, and my brain can't stand it.

I guess I'm like Always, I can enjoy a lot, but classical and metal...no!

I prefer alternative rock, or pop rock...I think...my bands/songs are too many, but here's a few of the top of my head:
Kill Hannah
"Donten" by DOES
French for Rabbits
Scott Pilgrim vs the world soundtrack (anthems for a 17 year old girl, Ramona, black sheep)
The Fray

I'm with Amanda on the music, that is the majority of the music I have on my Amazon account and some Al Denson.

Lately I've been listening to music from my favorite shows. The Musician (D.Gray man) and Donten (Gintama) and they're keeping me sane through this final section of school; makeup work, final projects, a theater performance, and CONFLUENCE...*sigh*...basically been pushing through a sinus infection (antibiotics, but I didn't rest since I'm stubborn) at school until the end. Then I'll rest and crash. I'll never learn!

I'm third on uplifting spiritual music. But occasionally I listen to the 70's-90's oldies but goodies. I also enjoy instrumental like that by Yani, and others like him; love piano & woodwind flute music for relaxing. πŸ™‚πŸ’•πŸ™πŸŒΌ

My go to music is usually pop/pop rock. I'm really into Meghan Trainor and Mika right now.their music is just fun and cheers me up. It depends on my mood though too. If im in a bad mood I listen to metal like Rammstein, helps me vent I find.

For me, music is my gateway to some semblance of sanity. I always go to my metal and rock of the 80's. Cranked loud, i not only have my creative oulet for writing but also forget my pain and fatigue
