Due to my boyfriends arthritis getting really bad we have been unable to go camping for years. He has had both knees replaced and his hip replaced and he isn't 40 yet. We did try tenting this year but we have a little tent that you can't stand up in and getting out was way too hard for him. We can't stay in hotels because of my chemical sensitivities.
We have been looking for a small trailer, a bed on wheels, for probably close to 6 years now. We finally found one! We were going to get the basic model but the dealership 8 hours (Google time so no stops) west was selling it for 5 thousand more than the dealership 14 hours (again Google time) east was selling the fully loaded model. So we now have ac and a tv as well as the plug in cooler I wanted.
The hotel we stayed at on the way down made me sick, as did a few of the bathroom stops but overall the travel was ok. Unwrapped the foam matts at the dealership so they could air or while we went the 4 hours to the national park to camp. Stayed there for 2 nights and then went home, Google said just under 12 hours, it took us over 14. Luckily he let me lay down in the back seat of the suv for the last 3 hours, I was ready to cry and he wanted to just get home.
The trailer didn't make me ill, but it's in the garage right now with all the windows open just to air it out further and so that i can clean it properly.
I feel less sick when camping, and now we can go camping more often. So excited. I really hope we use it enough to make it worth the investment.
