My story

Nov 06, 2017 9:20 AM

I am a 27 year old wife and mother of two beautiful girls. I have been dealing with chronic debilitating fatigue, abdominal pain, back pain, migraines, and more over the past ten years. I was finally diagnosed with endometriosis, a chronic illness with little to no treatment and no cure. I can't even have surgery to remove most of the Endo because it is all over my bowels and colon. As of now I'm using cbd oil to help with the pain and in search of a doctor to truly try to help me.

Hi I’m so sorry you’re going through this. My friend has suffered for over 10 yrs with endometriosis and like you had bits stuck to her bowel. I don’t know where you live but her NHS gynae Doctor was just useless (considering how many women are dealing with endo it’s ridiculous that the gynae doc’s aren’t actually trained in it !) Anyhow she paid for a private consultation with a doc specialised in this area. Luckily she has private healthcare through her work so she has just had keyhole surgery to scrape it away (obv carefully round the walls of the bowel) and is now back to work part-time and feeling good (although a bit tired) She may need to have this op every couple of years but it will absolutely be worth it for her. The chronic pain during a flare-up meant she was unable to take part in life became housebound and had resorted to smoking ‘cannabis’ for a few hours of relief. Get googling for a specialised doctor as it will make such a difference to talk to one that actually understands and that will try to help. Good luck, you’re not alone x

Thank you so much. I love in Tennessee and the only specialist in my area do not take my insurance so seeking other options as of now.

I know we are luckier than most here in Scotland but the NHS has gone downhill in the last 16yrs I would say. I’ve a lot of health issues and found the only way to get help was go private and pay for it myself. I pay for hyperbaric oxygen therapy that my body needs and my parents help me out with costs. It boils my blood that good health is only available to those who can afford it! It gets you down I know but it’s your health so you must fight. I wish you lots of luck x

Thank you so much. I would love to go private but with this disease I can only work part time and cannot afford our insanely high insurance. Thank you again for your kind words I wish you luck with everything as well.
