Bentnotbroken, my doctor has said I have myalgia referred pain, and the fibro, but he didn't call it MPS. I've only had one episode that my doc termed PTSD, decades ago that was triggered by something my daughter a going through. I hope it never returns.
Are you able to function well most days? I wish I had some advice but having only the one episode I can't offer anything. You'll be in my prayers. 🙏🌼
I'm in a lot of pain most days. I. Pretty much live on advil. I also spend hours a day working out the countless knots in my muscles all over my body. Religion is one of the causes. Of my ptsd so please refrain from telling me that you will pray for me.. Lol. Thanks tho.
I'm sorry. I pray for everybody, it's just who I am. No offense meant and none taken. I'll try to remember, but if I forget, I blame my fibro fog! Lol
I do have knots in various places, especially my shoulders and neck. And I've had one in the back of my right calf that is always there but gets bigger when my legs swell. Then it presses on nerves and causes toe pain. My right forearm knots bad too. I can usually have my hubby massage them with voltaren gel and I'm good until the next time I'm active.
Do you use any ointment on your knots for relief? I hope others on here can give you some suggestions to help you out. I'm sorry I can't do more. 🙏🌼
Thanks Lady!! I don't expect many suggestions. Just wondered how common the MPS/ptsd/fibro combo is and what other experience with it... especially the MPS I have years of experience of dealing with the pain and knots... and many tools to work them out. I find A353 heat rub helps.. as does my tens machine, my massage chair, my various massage tools, my stretching regime, and trying to look on the bright side as much as possible to all help. I am now in CBT therapy and will be continuing with ptsd therapy as well.. and will hopefully help with tension and thus pain. I am also looking into being referred to a pain clinic.
If I had to guess.. I would say I have about 100 or more knots all over my body at any given time... some are more painful than others.. some are unbearable. The tender points of fibro get pretty bad too.. especially when I get knots in the tender point area. I have also had nerve issues due to knots pressing on them.. for me it runs down my arm to my fingers. Luckily.. if I can get the knot to release.. the nerve pain goes away.. until next time.
Omg, bless your heart! No I don't get anywhere near that number of knots, maybe 15-20 at the worst. I think my fibro tender points are much worse pain too. Like you I do get knots on the trigger point areas and they are awful painful to work out. 🙏🌼
