Naproxen

Nov 22, 2017 12:00 PM

I had shingles and was told it was PHN (post shingles nerve damage),

The dr is not sure now and think it might be costochondritis and has prescribed Naproxen along with co codomol.

All I know is I have a dry cough and whilst the pain today hasn’t been too bad thanks to using a tens machine all the time, I hate being in this much pain and exhausted.

Can anyone relate and has anyone got any advice?

Naproxen can cause coughing, but it's rare (www.drugs.com/sfx/naproxen-side-effects.html). I'm also taking Co-codamal which is known as Tylenol #2 with Codeine in Canada, it can make you sleepy so don't drive unless you know how it affects you. As for Postherpetic Neuralgia, here is information: www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/postherpetic-neuralgia/basics/symptoms/con-20023743. And here is information on Costochondritis: www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/costochondritis/basics/definition/con-20024454

This is so helpful! Thank you so much.

I must admit I cannot drive at all with co codomol as it makes me too spacey. I find a microwaveable heat pad helps when I actually remember to do this.

These links are really useful. Thank you so much.
