Natural meds helping!

Apr 04, 2016 8:16 PM

I decided to try a natural approch again to helping my anxiety, depression and restlessness and finally got success!

I tried skullcap, ashawagandha root, kava kava and teasel root all in tincture form together every day for the past week and I have to say it helped more than any antidepressant, or anti anxiety medicine I've ever tried and I've tried a lot. My pain is still really bad from the CRPS, Lyme and gastroparesis but at least I can rest more instead of staying completely awake the whole day unless I pass out from exhaustion.

Anyways I thought I would share this with you all because we are all looking for ways to better our quality of life and rarely I find something that helps me.

Meganblondie, that's so wonderful that you've found this! I hope you'll be able to find something to help with the pain more now. Hugs & prayers! 🙂💕🙏🌼

Thanks FlappysLady 😃 I see my infecous disease doctor tomorrow to see how we are going to start my Lyme disease treatment! And I see my gastroenterologist to see how we are going to tackle my gastroparesis Wednesday! So busy week!

I didn't know until Terri confirmed it but I have gastroschisis too, called delayed emptying. I wish you the best and will say an extra prayer for you on that! 🙂💕🙏🌼

That is awesome! I know that there are clinical studies that shoe St. John's wart as effective as prozac. I know when you stop taking it you need to wean off just like most antidepressants. Did you order your tinctures online? If so can you share the brand and/or website you are getting them from. I am do glad that you are getting some relief. I am still eating mostly paleo and it has made a big difference with my energy and has lessened my inflammation. I still have more than my fair share of bad days but I think my attitude is better. I am excited for you.

Lol I figured :) don't worry I have to proof read mine 10 times before I send anything because my brain barely works 😁😆

Lol Flappy just admit it , you forgot to spell check.....lmao

Ashwagandha is pretty good, I've added circumin/turmeric, it is supposed to be excellent for inflammation.
I also take a B12 with folic acid and intrinsic factor. It helps my GERD a bit, and really helps with nutrient absorption and anemia and energy.
Then I have nattokinase for blood pressure and a good Omega 3 for my triglycerides. Not sure if the fishy stuff has made a difference, but my blood pressure has dropped over 20 points in about 45 days!

Terri, how can I remember to spell check with all this fog in my head? Sometimes I literally feel like I'm s swimming through the clouds trying to find my brain. Lol

FlappysLady, I feel the same way if I don't smoke my THC/CBD. But it helps the fog and anxiety a lot.

Wanted to ask about turmeric & how you use it. I bought a large container to mix with DMSO as a poultice, but then I wondered if I could sprinkle it on food or ingest it in a capsule? Or maybe I should just buy some pills. Anyone?

I got Circumin, which is the pill form of turmerix. Great for inflammation. I think you should be able to sprinkle the turmeric if it is food grade, and it should be. It's an herb used a lot in Indian food and other cuisines, and is highly regarded. I got my pills on Amazon, IIRC from Innovix Labs. So far so good!

I add fresh tumeric into juice that I make twice a week. Typically my juice batches are large. I use 1 inch piece with 2 inch piece of fresh ginger with this 3 huge beets, 1 lb. spinich, 1 lb. romaine, 6 granny smith apples, 3 full bunches of celery, 1 pineapple, 3 limes, 5 lb. carrots and a handful of parsley. The yield is around 12 pints that I put in mason jars and this has drastically lowered my inflammation and lessened my pain. If you use more tumeric it has a pepper like flavor that I really do not care for but it does work for me. The problem with capsules is tumeric is absorbed way down in our small intestines so much of it gets lost on the way out. Lol The reason I can make and store the amount of juice I make is because I bought a Norwalk juicer and the juice is cold pressed and it lasts longer. If you are using a centrifuge juicer make much smaller batches or the juice will start oxidation process and you will lose nutrients due to the heat created in the process. It is alot of work but I do this in steps and elicit help. Sorry that was such a long nerd post. Eat your way back to health. Avoid processed food and it does make a difference once you get use to the tastes. It takes some time and determination. Lots of determination!

This is one of the best most helpful post in awhile. I have been told to take many of these Natural supplements but not always told the benefits. I think if we can get away from some of these things with the numerous side affects it could only help us...even if it boost what the meds are suppose to do and often times do not do. I am exhausted and wore out from this illness and what I go through on a daily basis.
