natural pain killers

Aug 19, 2016 5:32 PM

hello. has anyone found herbs or suplements that help with pain? especially during crps or fibro flare ups. my doctor believes in lyrica and old antidepressants but I am highly sensitive and aware that they make me feel sick and zombielike.

I use hemp oil (CBD), arnica, and essential oils (peppermint, black pepper, helichrysum, lemon grass), turmeric, and emu oil lotion.

I'm really sensitive to traditional meds and have a ton of medical allergies.

In a flare I also take d-ribose to help with energy and using bath salts in a very hot bath really helps, too.

Good luck!

thank you. I dont like how doctors try to prescribe all these meds and dont tell you about the side effects, especially when using them long term

Yeah, I've done some serious doctor shopping. I've finally found one who treats with traditional meds and will write me what I need and talk to me about changes, side effects and so forth, and one that treats with bio-identical hormones and supplements. I mainly rely on the natural stuff, but for major flares it's nice to have the big guns in reserve.

Others in the site pointed me towards magnesium, potassium, vitamin D3, & teas to drink. They do help.

While you're looking at what to add, you should take an equally good look at what to cut out. Diet changes have made a HUGE difference for me. I cut out meat, dairy, processed foods, refined sugar and white flour among other things. I'm lucky that I don't like bread, so that makes it easier. After a time, your brain comes to know what hurts your body, and those foods lose their appeal.
