Nov 28, 2015 7:10 PM

What do you guys do when u are already super nausea from your last med dose and not hungry and to nauesa to eat anything for your next meds.
I take nortriptylin and lyrica an hour apart. The nortriptylin has me super nausea tonight I quess I did not have enough on my stomach. It's now time for my lyrica what could I take. I have done milk in the past but I'm so nausea

I am dependant on protein shakes. So far I don't have an issue with them. Took me a while to find one that worked for me. They make ones without milk too.

Other than that I know at times just drinking water to get the meds down can make my nausea kick in and I can't take anything for it because of the meds I am on. Vicious cycle. I have actually skipped a dose here and there of my meds...not recommending that. I just figured I can skip them or toss them back up.

Thanks shammagren.. I have thought of skipping but after my day today I'm hurting g so badly I can't. I thought my only other option was to take the meds and jsy fight the nausea. You mentioned you could not take anything for nausea. Does that include the naesuea pills can't reach the bottle i have to read the name of it.

Anything with calcium and something else sorry cant remember lessens the effectiveness of my meds.

I eat 1protien 2whole grain carb= like 2T peanut butter and apple, hard boiled egg and 1/2 piece plain bread, hard boiled egg skip center and put in hummus, 2T hummus and couple veggies. These can be little meals instead of eating 3 normal. It helps to eat 1st thing am and right before bed w pills to. Hope your tummy feels better soon.

Thanks crps...I have to work on breakfast. I normally just have coffee but I know it does not work well I have started eating more like cheese toast or a piece of meat like chicken or turkey sausage. But mornings and food is hard for me.

Think pregnant girl foods (if you've been there if not you'll know ;)) cold thing. Even 1c steel cut oats w raisins and walnuts or any groan like barley, oat bran ect you can make day before and eat cold. Some like yogurt and smoothies but I can't anymore 1st thing. Those can be lunch or dinner. 😊

Sounds like it could work at night also..for bed time meds

Totally. I got in this habit and lost 40 of the 65lbs I gained w this. However, I may be gaining it back by eating this weekend!

The BRAT diet works, banana, rice, apple sauce, toast & tea for nausea. I hope you feel better soon Newfibrogirl, it stinks not wanting to eat when you have to take your mess on a schedule .

I take Phenergan or the generic name promethazine, it's the only medicine that works for me for nausea and vomiting. I have also tried ginger, rather it be ginger candy, or ginger snaps etc. Even ginger ale works for nausea. I hope you feel better fast and can find something that works for you. ☺

The BRATdiet really works well also, as Anniesgt mentioned.

Oh and I do feel better. Still not really hungry this morning. Mom was even like that's all u gonna have. It was a small piece of turkey sausage and chees toast . I did not want that but I know I have to eat something

As long as you had something in your stomach and the nausea feeling was going away, you were on the right track. Your mom, just like all us moms here want to make sure our children are getting enough, lol.

Go natural, ginger (tea) is well known for anti-nausea effects

Nov 29, 2015 2:31 PM

That's what I like to use is ginger.

My PCP gave me a prescription for Zofran, a nausea drug they usually give you after surgery. It's a dissolvable pill. It works for a lot of different kinds of nausea, like carsickness, nausea from meds, etc.

There are also two supplement voces, if it's a digestive issue. Charcoal, or a papaya enzyme that's chewable, and if you find a line you like it's pretty good
