Welcome Beckylou! I hope you get a chance to meet some of the regulars like FlappysLady81, Lulabel, JAHMAC, Alwayzinpain....just to name a very few. Everyone here has such good and honest advice. Don't be shy.
Welcome to our community family Beckylou244! I have DDD & OA all down my spine with ruptures, tears, bulges, etc. I'm about to have my third cervical disc surgery next month. One doc mentioned I have a slight curve in my thoracic address but he didn't seem concerned. I know how bad spine pain can be and how quickly it can be exacerbated by slight movements. I've had problems since 1991, and sometimes I can just move wrong and cause problems in the lumbar, but by days end it's hard a domino effect. When I'm hurting rest. I can't use I've due to intolerance to cold. But I have gel packs and rice packs I freeze or hear and use. I truly enjoy a relaxing warm shower (can't use a bathtub anymore). I use pain ointment called voltaren Greek (rx), and deep breathing relaxation techniques to loosen up. Tension and stress tightens the muscles around the nerves, so I try not to get upset. I do have muscle relaxers and tramadol, but due to so many pain med allergies I try to get by with Tylenol arthritis, until my pain reaches a 7-8 level. Hugs love & prayers you can find ways to cope better while you heal (fractures), and for getting through the days one at a time! 🙂💕🙏🌸

Hi Beckylou 244, this is a good group you have found. Everyone adds management methods at some time or other. So happy you are here now & brought your pain with!! You should get some helpful skills, just rant if you need to. We listen. I, too, haveDDD, sciatica, OA, severe scoliosis. Just making it day to day living breathing the pain with some life going on in between the really terrible episodes. 😬🌹
