Need advice, Anyone with kids with Chronic Illnesses

Nov 28, 2017 6:07 AM

My daughter has been sick for a couple of months and has missed quit a lot of school, she has had blood work after blood work done and has had an ultrasound done and it came back normal.. still waiting on results from this last round of blood work and breath test.. they want to do another test to check the function of her Gallbladder, it's a possibility of her needing surgery done. Her doctor says she has a gluten intolerance so I have completely cut gluten out of her diet and it's helped some but not completely. With her missing so much school I was thinking about researching hospital bound schooling.. it's where a teacher comes to your house and helps teach the student who is chronically ill , but that would also take away any chances for her to be social with friends, has anyone else had to do this with thier child? I am not good with all this common core stuff so I'm afraid I won't be any help for her.. and I'm not sure if they have hospital bound schooling here but I wanted to get opinions on it before I checked to see if they have it here.

I suffer from chronic pain and my parents homeschool me when i was young. I did computer school where they have teachers and video along with online school work . Its good if moving is painful for your kid. In addition my mom took me to home schooling events so i could make friends and not be so lonely.

Has she been tested for SLE or multiple system atrophy?

My sister and I are both chronicly I’ll and if she hasn’t missed more than two quarters of school then she should be able to have the work dismissed and she should be able to pick back up in her classes
