I've had a really bad 48 hours. My nerves are burning in both calf, my hips, my ribcage, my thighs and both hands. I'm also having tight muscle pain in my shoulders, legs and feet and joint pain in both knees, my fingers, elbows and ankles. I've not had more than 2 hours sleep and then I am awaken by this aweful pain. I've added Lidocaine patches and moist heat to my pain meds..... The pain is still off the chain. Needless to say, I'm extremely exhausted. I think the change in weather with the big dip in the temperature yesterday and the rain over the weekend has a lot to do with this increase in pain.
I sure hope this pain get under control soon. I am looking forward to going to God Friday Church Service and also making a wonderful Easter dinner for my family on Sunday.
Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks, AngelicSmile
Angelicsmile, Our boys are grown and away from home. I think my husband and I might have Easter dinner with a few friends who find themselves with no set plans. I really enjoying making Easter dinner. I won't be able to this year, but my husband is getting rather good at cooking. The trick will be to convince him that veggies are a necessity and not a bother.
Dlwc58, Glad that you will be having Easter dinner with friends. Sorry that you are no longer able to enjoy making your dinner but it is a good thing to have such a willing husband. KUDOS to him for taking on that responsibility.
I'm not sure what's going to be on the menu. I will have to scale back from what I want to do cause I cannot handle it anymore. None the less I am sure I will make some of my traditional Jamaican dishes.
Angelicsmile-I'm half Jamaican, my Dad is coming to get me for Easter and with my Gran still alive I can't wait for her traditional Jamaican dishes.......im starving myself ready for the weekend,so I can pig out!!! 😊🇯🇲
Oh, delicious! Although some of those dishes can be a true labour of love, all the time and technique they take to make! I haven't had any home cooked Jamican food since I moved here 20 years ago. I'm going to be finalizing my shopping list soon...I have no idea what I should plan to make it easy enough for my husband, yet special enough for a holiday meal. And, thank you. I'm glad I'll be having dinner with friends, too. Being too far away from most of my immediate family, I see my friends as family. And, I always feel better when family is near!
Enjoy the holiday! It sounds like you have a wonderful long weekend ahead of you!
Jahmac, I had the feeling that you had some Jamaican in you with a screen name like JAHMAC. You are so right, there is nothing like grandma authentic Jamaican cooking. Glad that you will be having great family time on Easter while connecting your taste buds with your roots. I pray that you will have an awesome time on Sunday.
Dlwc58, You hit the nail on the head. Cooking for me is truly a labor of LOVE. It takes everything out of me to do but I enjoy doing it for my kids, sisters, nieces and nephews and now my precious 16 months old grandson, who is my first and only grandchild.
I know that you will get a great menu together and have a fabulous Easter Dinner on Sunday.
AngelicSmile, No, I'm not Jamaican. When I was younger the mother of my then boyfriend was Jamaican. She loved to have everyone over for Sunday dinner. She was such a lovely woman. You could taste that love in those dishes. She used to make these little cakes that were like savory doughnuts. I can't for the life of me remember what they were called. They were so good!
Sounds like you're surrounded by family! A grand-baby, congratulations ...I'm hoping that our oldest and his wife will decide to have one soon. I don't push, but secretly I'm already planning that little ones firsts.
You have inspired me to make some of my favourite dishes. I'll get my hubby to help if I'm having trouble...just nobody tell my physiotherapist I didn't give this one up! (:
