I went for my nerve conduction testing as well as an EMG. The neurologist said I certainly have some small nerve neuropathy happening. He said I likely pinch my ulnar nerve and that's why I lose the feeling and get the burning pain in my wrists. The small nerve neuropathy can be caused by gluten or glucose intolerance (which would indicate early onset diabetes). He is going to send my family Dr some more tests that he would like me to do to see those. I was tested for gluten intolerance a couple years ago and it was negative. He said it can develop as we age. He did mention that he is concerned about early onset diabetes as I failed the 1 hr glucose test when I was pregnant with my first 4 years ago. He was a very nice neurologist. I told him I always worry that it's in my head and he said "No, you have some very real symptoms". My husband was in the room for that too :) He is always supportive but I think it helped him hearing that.
