Since removal of a spinal cord tumor in 2012, I am partially paralyzed. I can walk but can't feel most of my left leg, except for pain, that is. I have constant burning in left toes of left foot. I also have nerve pain which is stabbing and comes every few seconds at least once or twice per week. I am on morpine low dose 15mg, Baclofen and voltaren gel. I only take the morphine when I have pain. Lyrica and neurontin did nothing for my pain or neuropathy. The morphine helps greatly but keeps me awake all night as does every other painkiller I have tried. However per my pain management specialist, morphine is a very clean med with the least side effects. Anyone had any luck with Botox injections for nerve pain and spasticity? Anyone unable to sleep with opiates?

Neuropathy I take 800 mg., Gabapentin 4 x day, 50 mg., Savella 2 x day along with my Hydroc/APAP 4 x day as needed and 50 mg., Fentanyl Patches change every 3 days. I was forced by my insurance to take Lyrica for 3 months it did nothing for me so they let me go back to the Savella.

Gabapentin and Neurontin are the same medication.
One is generic, the other is the brand.
I'm only familiar with my own diagnoses, but I have CRPS/RSD (the unable to feel/numb and burning are from this) so I don't have good circulation which causes other problems and just gets worse and worse.
I also have peripheral neuropathy.
I take Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) which somehow makes me less sensitive to pain, and gives me energy.
I used to take Kratom, which helped me stay in school as long as I did.
Iodine is very helpful.
I often eat seaweed from the local Asian food store.
Magnesium can help.
I dissolve Epsom Salts in water, then spray it on my leg.
It feels like it's squeezing my leg, but it brings back some circulation.
Kava Kava Root helps me relax.
Benadryl stops some of the nausea.
Good luck finding something that works for you!

Thanks everyone. Guess it's trial and error. I am going to try the Botox injections and see if it helps and report back with the results.

I tried the Botox injections for migraines. They helped but only lasts for about 70 days and they came back. Since my Surgeon can only do every 90 days and I had some changes to my head and face I discontinued them and started acupuncture and juicing. Family and results started me thinking holistic as much as I can tolerate. Good luck. Do all that you can to reduce pain and increase QOL.
